I bought the game simply for the headset. I've never played Socom before so I'll let you know if it's worth it , but I"m sure i'll get my money's worth for the game even if it ends up being bad.

I think the game is online only so i'd have to say no primarily but i'll double check as soon as the update is done.

NO Split Screen - never has been in any Socom, and probably never will be. Hell the only online shooter game I know that has split screen is warhawk.

I am really digging the headset.. it is very nice and an upgrade to my previous bluetooth headset.

Be careful about pairing without using the auto-pairing via USB cable, as if you do not use the auto-pairing via USB cable, you will not get all the benefits of the PS3 bluetooth headset...

No "Official" reviews are out yet, but, MetaCritic user score is 9.3 from 21 reviews...not too shabby...

I've only played about 5 maps so far but i'm impressed so far. The shooting is fun already and the graphics are much better than what I was hearing from people. A lot of people are playing this right now as well. Most servers are full with 256 players.

I just got home from buying this game.

Right now I'm charging up and installing. I hope to play in about 4-5 hours when I get time.

Having never played Socom, I have no idea what to expect, beyond me sucking of course.

Thank you for posting this or I would have never did the 'automatic' thing since it was never available prior to 2.5 or with any other BT I ever used.

I really wish they had just put a little tidbit on the special needs of pairing this headset on the white slip in the box... seriously.

Get online so we can play !!! They mentioned all this information at the very back of the manual but agree, they should have just put it on the little white slip.

I didn't even open the game yet!

I bought it for the headset. I did the Socom Beta and hated it but had a friend that wanted to try it and $10 was nothing for something to kill time til LBP.

I'll try to get it going here shortly and get the update installed.

Hope they patch in the trophies quickly.

its alright....take a deep breath. We're only in day 2 of release. Some kinks have to been worked out. And when they do....the killing will begin.

Not I....I'm assuming you are? The same thing happened when GTA 4 first came out. It might be a corrupt data file....in which case you should delete the already downloaded Socom file and trying downloading it again

Me.

I still haven't played one second of Socom.

What really, really bothers me is you can't do anything without connecting. At least in Warhawk I could make a mock game and test the controls even if I was offline.

actually, it just took awhile to initiate the initial setup files. now it's downloading the update.......slowly.....very slowly. im sure that there's alot of people downloading it. so i am patient. waiting....here. on the forums. hehe...
