Kings of Leon was one of my blind buys, never even knowing any of there music. It has now become one of the top three that I play when I have company over.

I'm not particularly into buying concert videos. I rent them, primarily because I'm one of those who only watch 'em once. Today I rented The Last Waltz and this'll definitely be the first concert Blu I buy. It's worth it for "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" alone.

I'm kinda the opposite. I get much more replay value from my concert BDs than most of my movies. Concerts are great when hanging out with friends socializing. If I have company and put on a movie, everyone turns into a zombie, but if I put on a concert we don't shutup the whole night.

My wish list on Blu:
Any Prince concert, especially from the '80s-- Lovesexy Tour or Sign O' The Times!
Depeche Mode-- 101
Madonna-- Blonde Ambition

If you're into Journey they released Live in Mania a while ago on standard DVD. While over at amazon I noticed they released it on Blu-ray too http://www.amazon.com/Journey-Live-M.../dp/B0045TQ94I . I thought it was a mistake, but one of reviews says it's not a mistake, and he got it on Blu-ray from amazon. Amazon doesn't give specs but other sites show it's 1080i and DTS-HD MA 5.1

The frustrating thing about concerts is that usually there is a CD+DVD counterpart that's considerably cheaper than a single Blu-ray. So while I would love to own the Blu-ray, I will usually skip them so I can get the CD along with the DVD. One day I hope they will package the Blu-ray with the CD and just charge a bit more than the DVD version.

+1

On top of that, another frustrating thing is they only release it on cd + dvd instead of in BD. Extreme's Take Us Alive is a prime example.

The only concert BD I'm been waiting for is The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over unplugged. That's just amazing AQ demo material right.

I guess, that will be available when indeed hell freezes over

I picked up Paul McCartny Goodevening New York City in a DVD Digibook (4 disc set). Amazing concert and the packaging included 2 - CD's of the concert. 1- DVD of the Concert and 1- DVD of features included the free concert McCartney gave outside the David Letterman show studio on the streets of New York City.

A+

Now here is hoping for a Bluray release.

That would be a fantastic concert to own on BR.

Now while I patiently wait for that, I'll cross my fingers and hope that Jesse Cook: One Night at the Metropolis is released on BR soon.

I love concert DVDs and Blu-rays, but the availability of stuff my dirty-peace-lovin'-hippie-self enjoys is quite slim

I still need to pick up "Stop Making Sense" considering how many times I've threatened to get it....

I currently have:

The Last Waltz
Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter
Clapton/Winwood @ MSG
Neil Young Archives Vol 1
Roy Orbison B&W
The Complete Monterey

Pretty slim picking's I know...

i bought Kings of Leon: Live at the 02 London, England the other day, and DAMN! that is an impressive, addicting, and awesome show / disc.

i cannot wait to add more concerts to my collection. although, now if someone were to ask me, "name 20 BD's you'd take with you on a desert island?" i'm sure in time all 20 could be concert blu-rays.

i've watched KoL about 10 times now and it never gets old. just always excellent, just to listen to much the less sit down and watch and see the amazing musicianship and light show that goes on.

i should have started buying these concert BD's much, much sooner

Bearcat that is exactly how I feel about that concert. That blu ray has the most plays of any of my discs. Almost every weekend since we got it in August.
