I figured all that talk about Triangle on here was just because how much it sucked. I'll check it out sometime before the year is over since my plate fills up starting next week.

Anchorman The Legend of Ron Burgundy (DVD)

Ok this has to be the funniest movie i've ever seen. The movie definitely lived up to the hype. On the negative side there were allot of moments that left me in the state of "Come on". In addition Steve Carell's part was killing me about 20mins in. Overall this funny was f'n hilarious and im getting it on blu as soon as its 50% off . Yes im cheap lol.

Highly Recommended!

I just meant pointless in the sense that it didn't have much plot, wasn't exciting, wasn't funny etc. etc. etc. I just didn't like/enjoy a single thing about it.

Pointless in that I have no friggin' idea what the director was trying to accomplish as it wasn't interesting dramatically, wasn't action oriented, was devoid of laughs etc. etc.

Not that I was expecting some profound impact or something!

I still agree with the second theory, but the dream theory has TONS of weight. Part of why this movie kicks ass!
That's the funny thing about it, the interpretation still works.

For whatever reason, I never subscribed to it,
[Show spoiler]and always accepted the film as it actually happened. But looking back on it, it really is so over-the-top and adventurous, and a bit hard to accept as something "real."

Fascinating...

Here's the thread if you need it:

I haven't seen any activity here since spring; I think a lack of participation and the OP's situation killed it.

Good luck with "Triangle..."

I will but i have to think about it carefully and might need some collaborations. To be successful we need some type of chart for different genres and rotate who picks the movies to watch. Ohh and once again easily accessible movies so anyone besides us movie nerds can get involved

Ip Man (US)

Movie: 4
PQ: 2.5
AQ: 4

Good martial art film with outstanding choreography displayed by Donnie Yen -- some of the best you'll ever see. PQ was bad but apparently the HK release looks great. I've seen comparisons and it blows the US version away.

Crimson Tide

Film: 4/5
-very good film overall. script is a little weak with the closed setting and redundant themes. however, what bolted this film up from 3/5 to 4/5 for me was the dual-powerhouse of Washington and Hackman: It was like watching two top heavyweights going 15 rounds with non-stop uppercuts and knockouts on both sides. Their performances alone are worth the price of the blu.

PQ: 3.5/5

AQ: 4/5

I don't like the genre, but the acting performances made this a must own for me too.

Harry Brown 3.5/5

As a fan of Michael Caine, I wanted to check this out. Quite a realistic portrayal of the social problems in the UK and one of the reasons I moved to Canada. Caine was excellent as always. It's a very gritty subject, so I can't say it's exactly enjoyable to watch. Good stuff though.
