It's too bad Pioneer still does not make plasma screens. They were the performance leader with the best build quality. Higher quality products generally cost more money. It's too bad Pioneer was not able to make a profit on the screens over the last 3 years. They were not charging enough for the screens to cover the cost of the multi millions of dollars spent on research and development of the Kuro technology. Also when one charges more for a display they will sell less screens. On top of that they had all kinds of restrictions on who could purchase and sell the Elite screens that limited the Elite models to limited locations.
I totally agree, I wish Pioneer would rethink their decision to stop making the Kuro. I'm sure they could do something to stay in business. you would think they are keeping an eye on sales of the 9Gs, because as you reported in your earlier posts that they are becoming very hard to find. believe me, I know Maybe they will see how popular the Kuros are with us diehard HT fans and change their mind As for my G10, I am very dissapointed with Panasonic. I have read nothing but good reviews on the G and V series. Who wants to buy a plasma that has its black get worse with age? It should be the other way around

What's everybody's thoughts on the Dynamic setting? That is the only one that I have found to look the best with the brightest whites. The other modes all seem to be pretty dim...

Default Dejudder... but not.

So, of the plethora of reasons that I love my Elite, the dejudder processing of 24fps sources (aka the "Advanced" Mode in PureCinema) is a biggie... it's one of the reasons I actually like 120hZ on LCD's.

But the problem is the Advanced mode, as you know, is supposed to recognize 30fps material & 24fps material and process accordingly by switching from 60hZ to 72hZ.

It is flawless and lovely when I'm watching 24fps content on bluray on my PS3, but when I'm just watching HDTV on cable (via HD TiVO) it seems like the tv will flicker or judder annoyingly. It seems like I notice it more often on shows like "House" that might actually be filmed in 24fps....

Does anyone else experience this/have a fix?? I don't want to constantly have to change the settings and turn it off. I like keeping it in "Pure" mode with Advanced PureCinema -ON and riding it.

Thanks! I'm interested in any/everyone's feedback!

Congrats on your KRP 500M Sarge, it's a awesome set. It's probably slightly better then your 151 in PQ. I love mine.

If all goes well, I will have another 141 early next year.

I don't notice the flicker or the judder your talking about. I watched House tonight also and it looked fine to me but I have mine set to Standard and Standard for film mode.

Pioneer plasma inventory update

I am hearing from a very reliable source that the US Pioneer warehouse is completely out of stock on all 60 inch and 50 inch models including the top of the line Elite Signature Series. As most people are aware by now Pioneer completely stopped assembling their high quality plasma screens in the USA back in April 2009 since they were not able to make a profit on the plasma screens over the last 3 years.

Also a very large Pioneer distributor that supplies retail stores and discount mail order companies with Pioneer plasma screens just ran out of all the Pioneer models this month. So now what every is left in retail stores and at online Internet dealers is all that is left, they will not be getting any more Pioneer screens. At one time the 60 inch $7,000 PRO-141FD could be found online for slightly under $3,500 and the 50 inch $5,500 PRO-101FD could be found online for under $2,500 if one were to do a lot of bargaining with the online dealer. Now since inventories are low on the screens and there is no more in the Pioneer and Distributor warehouses, the prices might increase as we get closer to the holiday season. The PRO-141FD's are selling between $4,100-$5,000+ from most online dealers now. The PRO-101FD's are selling between $3,000-$4,000+ from most online dealers now. Sure there are better prices but not all dealers are authorized Pioneer dealers which is important to get the 2 year Elite parts and labor warranty.

The Pioneer 60 inch Elite Signature PRO-141FD, Original list price $7,000 (monitor only with no tuners, requires surround sound system or sound bar, needs optional table top stand or wall mount, The best quality screen but not for the average consumer since it has no speakers built in)

http://www1.bottomdollar.com/p__Pioneer_Elite_Kuro_PRO_141FD_60_Plasma_Display, __720664825/search=pro-141fd/st=query

Pioneer 50 inch Elite Signature PRO-101FD, Original list price $5,500(monitor only with no tuners, requires surround sound system or sound bar, needs optional table top stand or wall mount, The best quality screen but not for the average consumer since it has no speakers built in)

http://www1.bottomdollar.com/p__Pioneer_KURO_Elite_PRO_101FD_50_Plasma_Display, __722614604/search=pro-101fd/st=query

The Pioneer PRO-151FD standard Elite TV original list price is $6,500. The PRO-151FD is an excellent display for the average consumer since it includes tuners, the table top stand to install the TV and the excellent stereo side speakers that can be removed.

http://www1.bottomdollar.com/p__Pioneer_Elite_KURO_PRO_151FD_60_Plasma_TV,__812 61389/search=pro-151fd/st=query

There are also other models of Pioneer displays like the KRP-500M that can be found online for under $1700 with free shipping. The KRP-500M is a monitor only with no tuners and requires speakers and a table top stand.

http://www1.bottomdollar.com/p__Pioneer_KURO_KRP_500M_50_Plasma_Display,__72291 2395/search=krp-500m/st=query
I went to my local BB today and they have one 141 on display but can get me an unopened one from another store. The problem is that they want $7000 for it.

There are plenty of 151s, 4 or 5 in the store and over 100 in the warehouse. The salesman said the lowest BB went on the 151 was $5500. I think I recall that it went down to $4500 and Saprano posted that he paid $4000 at a BB.

The salesman said that effective the 25th, the Pioneers are deleted. A new price may be coming soon. He said it depended on how they were selling to determine what the new price will be. I checked over a month ago and they had over 80 in the warehouse and now they have over 100, with 4 in the store.

I was surprised that the 111 was gone as the last time I checked they wanted $4500 for it.

The way I look at it, in 2 to 3 years there will be something just as good that will be lighter, use less power and will cost a lot less.

Well I just got back from Best Buy, I returned my 50" G10. I was very suprised with BB They did Not give me a hard time because I didn't have the box it came in, infact they did not even turn the set on to make sure it works ,(of course nothings wrong with it), But this was the first time I didn't get hasseled by the customer service dorks I should be getting my 500M delivered next Wed from Valueelectronics.com and I'm stoked Nothing against the G10 except a few people had issues with the black levels and I don't want to take that chance.I had a chance to get another Kuro for a couple hundred more than I paid for the Panny and I jumped on it

I had to join this board just because of this thread. I notice there are alot of Pioneer owners here. I'll be one soon enough. I'm sure I'll have quite a few questions. I've put a deposit down on a 500M from ValueElectronics and will be getting the controlcal with ISF day/night with break-in and calibration before they send it out. I thought this was an awesome deal ValueElectronics was doing and the fact that the owner was cool enough to hold one while I got the rest of the funds together.

I'm really suprised these monitors haven't sold out yet. I would definately go this route before getting the G10 or V10 for that matter. The price is comparable with some places selling them as low as $1700 shipped for the 500M. I figure folks haven't caught on yet. Good. Maybe I'll be able to scoop up another one after tax returns. ....wishful thinking.

I should be seeing mine in just over two weeks. Two lonnnnnng azzzz weeks. lol

That's awesome, I hear he's one of the best calibrators out there, you can't go wrong there. Too bad I live in the sticks (well sort of) and I doubt there's any IFC technicians around these parts. Though I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with the calibration Robert does... or whomever he might have do it. I'll know more when I speak with him sometime this week. I may have jumped the gun getting it reserved but I honestly expected all the dealers to sell out of them before mid October but it still looks like quite a few places have some in stock. Nobody else offers the deal valueelectronic has going on....a broken in and calibrated panel before it gets to your doorstep. I can throw a blu-ray or PS3 game in and it right off the top.

Just pulled the trigger on a KRP-500M!

Impulse buy!!

Where can I find a stand for this thing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Also, anyone familiar with Evangelo2's Break-in DVD? I haven't researched it, and I'm assuming you just unzip the file and burn it to a DVD for break in. Heard about it over on AVS.

Where can I find a good tuner too?

Excited!

I will definately let you know how it turns out. My friend has the 141FD and it's truly beautiful. It wasn't until I started looking for advise on a new Panny plasma from the forums that i discovered this "top secret Kuro", the kuro on the downlow...haha. I was even more excited when I stumbled on Robert's site and saw these package deals he had going on.

I'm not sure as I always use Paypal nowadays. I've been burned one too many times online.

The place on ebay actaully has a store and website. You could always call them and place your order over the phone. Much safer that way, IMO. Their website is audio-exchange.com. I hope i didn't break any forum rules posting an outside website, if I did, I apologize.
