This weekend I watched quite an intriguing Ozploitation heist/crime film called Money Movers from 1978. It was a wild stressful ride ripe with cynicism and violence but it also delves into themes class division and corruption in darkly humorous ways. Directed by Bruce Beresford who would go on to make Driving Miss Daisy and you would never guess that from this picture. It struck me as a potential hidden gem that Fun City or some other boutique label might bring to a larger audience. Have you seen it jah13 [or anybody else in the thread (though I don't want to veer the conversation too off course)]?

Unrelated (or more related rather), I'm excited to receive the Smile blu from the VS sale, it's most likely the first one I'll pop in the machine.

Got Jeremy and Smile in today with the other two titles I ordered during the Memorial Day sale. The embossed hearts on the back of the slip for Jeremy was a nice touch.

Thanks for supporting us and helping make JEREMY and SMILE big hits...I, too, really like the embossed hearts on the rear side.

Are the Walking the Edge copies people are receiving with their 1/2 orders the corrected discs, or are those still to come?

Per our partner and distributor Vinegar Syndrome / OCN Distribution , concerning the new WALKING THE EDGE disc:

We have noticed a dropped frame at 07:34 on the Fun City Editions release of WALKING THE EDGE. This was an issue inherent in the authoring process and, as such, we will be issuing replacement discs. This will also allow us to correct the missing English SDH track. If you have already purchased WALKING THE EDGE, you don't need to do anything. Replacement discs will automatically ship once they arrive. We appreciate your understanding and patience. Thank you!

Watched Walking the Edge today and loved it. Solid 80's flick. The dropped frame or whatever is barely noticeable. Either way, very solid release.

Wow. Most people I know have trouble seeing single frames even when I pointed out something subliminal, so that is pretty amazing that you would be replacing it for a dropped frame.

I already received it in my VS order last week... but I'm more interested in having the missing English SDH track than the single blink-and-you'll-miss-it dropped frame.

The replacement disc was announced before they even started shipping any of these out. I don't think anyone was really complaining about the dropped frame. It was just a late QC issue that was caught by FC/VS themselves, and they decided to take the initiative and correct both that and the missing subtitle track.

Should be revealed by early July, possibly a little earlier.

Received my VinSyn sale order yesterday and I am so glad I grabbed Jeremy with the slipcover. Whomever decided to spot gloss the two tiny hearts on the back is a legend.

I see Smile stock is getting pretty low, so I might have to get on that soon. I'd really hate to miss out on the slip for that one.

Question for jah13:

Why is it on so many older films that come to blu-ray the opening frames/credits are always so grainy and then the picture clears up as the film continues. Is this intentional on part of the restorer to show the contrast, before/after restoration, or is there something about the first frames/credits that cause this?

I noticed this watching 'Walking The Edge' the other day, which looks beautiful btw and thought about how I always notice this.
