I don't think it was certain Tebow would suck (and honestly I still don't think he got enough time, I mean look how many tries Alex Smith got to get it right).

But the year he won they were 9-4 and probably would have been allot worse without him given how much transition took place.

No, it was/is certain.

you don't know that. He could suck for 5 years and in year six it could all click.

Let me know what some stocks are going to do in the coming months since you can foresee the future.

He's not going to correct his arm motion after years of using it. And as a QB, he'll never succeed in the NFL with it.

Who knows if he never gets a shot, and who knows that he couldn't eventually adjust. Point is without an opportunity to play Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Trent Green, Warren Moon, exc. would all be irrelevant too.

The Jets keep putting in a guy who might be the worst starting QB in the NFL week after week over Tebow. That should tell you something...

It tells me they have a dysfunctional organization and have had so for awhile, they've done a terrible job on player personal and that should tell you something too

Tebow was traded to the Jets for a 4th and 7th round pick. Not one NFL team would even give up a 3rd round pick for this guy. He's not an NFL QB. He's a carnival freak to sell tickets, nothing more.

He sells a lot of Jets jerseys and a ton of publicity. They felt it was worth giving up two picks, I hope it was worth it for them.

And Tom Brady was the 199th compensatory pick , but he got his opportunity, Tebow on the other hand has yet to get a REAL shot to see how it goes.

If its simply about perceived value, then Spergon Wynn is worth more than Tom Brady.

I'm not saying he'll be good (as much as I joke about it), I'm simply saying he deserved at least a few seasons to see if he can do it, and all he gets is crap like he's already had Ryan Leaf like seasons.

So what exactly did Denver give Tebow if not a "REAL shot"?

Kliff Kingsbury and Chad Morris are reportedly top two targets for Texas Tech.

Glad you brought that up he gave them 7-4 and some late game heroics which again proved he deserved more games than 14 games over the course of 2 years (also a playoff birth in concert with the good defensive play) .

Qb's who have gotten to play more games:
Tarvaris Jackson
Shaun Hill (beast)
Matt Moore
Trent Edwards
Alex Smith (who didn't have a positive record till 2011, and broke even at 5-5 in 2009)

I could keep going if you'd like.

By all means keep going. That's a nice list of QB's who are better than Tebow. Good god, you're defending a guy whose completion rate in the NFL is 47%. The WORST completion rate for any starting QB this season is Skelton at 55%. Why do people still insist on defending this guy? He can't throw the football. He might be one of the best college football players of all-time but he's not an NFL caliber QB.

lol I'm defending the fact he deserves a shot to see if he can get better how that point continues to elude people is frighting...

Nobody said he was better than them, or even that he will get any better.

Historically speaking people don't get better at completion %. What it is, it is.

I still think he should give up and try his hand at being a TE or something similar.

After their 2nd NFL season you're right. Typically QB's have a bad first year comp rate than it jumps in year 2 and stays similar throughout their career. But ya, Tebow's was bad in is 2nd year too.

2nd year he was randomly started and put in games his first year... That hardly counts as a season.. But ok... Based on that Aaron Rodgers got worse he went from 56.3% his "rookie" year to 40% in his "second" year.

Rodgers threw 15 and 16 passes those two seasons... Tebow threw 82 and 271 passes his first two seasons. The first is too small a sample size to make any judgments, the second isn't.
