![]() In this case, we get three episodes of the failed Disney Channel "Team Atlantis" pilot, from the story editors of Gargoyles, with Milo, Kida and the research team now taking on world assignments for the museum...And since it IS the story editors from Gargoyles, yes, there'll be snooty attempts to reference every big of Classic World Mythology 101 the writers happened to know about. As Yummy points out, the TV animation isn't quite up to movie standards (more like the Tarzan TV series), but if you wanted the story to play more like the Hellboy Animated series to go with the Mike Mignola character design, this is it. Brother Bear II wasn't too bad, basically restates the central plot of the movie by "bringing the girls along this time", including for the Great White Mooses. Like Mulan II, not classic, but not too bad either, and fits perfectly as a "disk bonus" extra. Last edited by EricJ; 06-13-2012 at 08:15 PM. |

That's the problem, the extras on disc are sacrificed to make room for the cheapquels.

I'm probably WAY too late for this but is there a specific reason why Disney is doing the main/dtv combo packs? Is it just to get it out of the vault or is it really for adding value to the discs? So far the only movie combos I approve are Fantasia and Rescuers

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Most of the time the extras fit just fine in there (especially in animated films). Disney just wants to push the "cloud" idea to the masses. And they are not "banished", they are perfectly accessible. If you can't live with them not been on the disc and you don't want the "cheapquel", import one of the European versions. for consumers who have so many choices, you people complain an awful lot. |

Princess Diaries had no room for the original extras (and was fairly low bit rate compared to their single features). Neither will Pocahontas. Now you tell me again it's a "myth". Imports aren't an option for most people, certainly not for Ma & Pa sixpack looking to entertain the young ones. And Disney is no longer pushing BD-Live. They now have many high profile titles completely without that feature, so yes, banished is the perfect description. Last edited by PeterTHX; 06-14-2012 at 04:28 AM. |

Pocahontas 1/2 though are 1) 12,5GB (Video) + 1,9GB (Audio) = 14,4GB 2) 10,3GB (Video) + 1,3GB (Audio) = 11,6GB That's 26 GB. You have 24GB left for French and Spanish DD 5.1 tracks, the Audio Commentary and the extras.. The extras could have fitted easily in my opinion Disney has been pushing BD-Live as an streaming content for some time now (Fantasia, The Lion King, Pocahontas). They have only abandoned the gimmicky sides of it (Sleeping Beauty). If you're a Ma & Pa looking to entertain the younger ones, then you should be happy you get 2 movies in the price of 1 and the edition with the most features (which, if you're a Ma & Pa, you probably wouldn't care for anyway) |

I was just using it as an example of another Disney animated release which is a stand alone title that is actually shorter but has a much higher bitrate.
Putting 2 films on a disc is easy enough but the bit rate will always suffer, would be interesting to see if the stand alone release of Pocahontas has a higher bit rate. |
