You are aware that the last film to win Best Picture without a director nom is Driving Miss Daisy?

U mad bro?

I'll post my picks when I have the time to sit down and look at everything. Oscar signs are way easy to read, people just ignore them.

They are also giving way too much precedence of though to the director snub. Ask yourself what's the bigger upset of precedence? Not being nominated for best director or sweeping all precursor events and still losing.

Argo wins best picture.

I predict an evening of chaos, contempt, and utter disrespect ... depending on one's point of view of course.

Here's an oft-hilarious look at an Academy member's ballot (he's an unidentified director):

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/rac...-ballot-422546

I actually would vote the same way in many of the categories, funnily enough, though of course not the same method of thought on many of them.

That guy and I are in agreement on quite a few of the picks!

Although, he's a bit too rough on Argo by calling it a "whole lot of nothing"! Argo is easily one of the top 5 films of 2012. It's just not going to win any Oscars.

An anonymous director and Academy member fills out his Oscar ballot -- and lets us in on what he's choosing and why. Highly entertaining piece, a must-read.

Yeah the Oscars are very much fun and games, and I love to watch for the glamour and class of it all; but it isn't and shouldn't be considered the end-all and be-all of moviemaking.

I do appreciate them as a celebration of American filmmaking though.

That piece is almost satirical, even if I agree with many of his choices ultimately!

I haven't seen any of the films nominated so that makes me qualified to pick Lincoln as this year's best picture winner.

This is one of my favorite "Oscar moments" where Hoffman calls out the very idea of competition in the arts. Skip to 3:44 in.

Truly inspiring speech. I've actually never seen that before.

And LOL at Johnny Carson. "Day 164 of the Oscar telecast."

The oscar nominees have made over $300 million in box office since being nominated. could start a trend of moving oscar bait to December

Here are two of my favorite oscar acceptance speeches. I'd like to see them become more classy or short and sweet like these ones. It's always annoying to see the actors make an embarrassing spectacle of themselves, and then start to 'act' during their speeches. These are two good examples of how to accept an oscar.

I can't wait to see Anne Hathaway's over the top acceptance speech with the hyperventilating, crying, pretending to act speechless and surprised.

I don't know man, Pesci didn't seem very thankful. I like to see them thank the people that helped them along the way. I always like to see acceptance speeches show humility and some humbleness. But you are right, from time to time to do see someone go over the top. Tom Hanks' win for Philadelphia and Morgan Freeman for Million Dollar Baby are two of my favorites.

The 2 I enjoyed the most were Argo and Pi though I still haven't seen Playbook yet.

I would go for Argo for best film though.
