Thats the key; you can't get it online or for pickup, you have to go in store BUT they do show if they have it in stock so at least its not a pure guessing game. $16.49 for the 4Ks is an absolute steal and on top of that its Disney. You might find these for Black Friday on 4K for $14.99 but I wouldn't count on it.

Default Sigh

Tried to get Mary Poppins Returns and several stores didn't have it in stock; worse their website said in stock only to call ahead and find they don't have it.

They are certainly getting rid of these it looks like, but stock is pretty much slim to none for MPR; TLM and RBTI most certainly are still widely available to get at least...

The Lion King is another one that's out. It shows discontinued on their system even though they claim to still have stock online. Oh well...

Looks like I was right

Aladdin - September

Jungle Book - February

101 Dalmatians - June

Sleeping Beauty - September

And that will wrap it up! The last Mia. Line collection of these classic son physical copy.

How does that wrap it up? That's not even a 1/3 of the animated movies Disney has. It doesn't even have Beauty and the Beast or Fantasia for fooks sake. Not that's not wrapped up by a long mile. Not even close. NEXT!

Beauty and the Beast already joined this line in Fall 2016.

Not on 4K (unless I'm missing something), which is what I thought we were talking about.

The "wrapping up" was meant about the Signature Collection, not 4K. Though having 3/4 early Renaissance films would make the collection incomplete (for me at least). I don't know how much Disney is up to release non digital films on 4K (The Little Mermaid was the exception imo).

How much different does this look compared to the standard bluray? Any changes in the actual scan?

Big improvement to my eyes. Even moreso than The Lion King.

Why are you in this thread then?

PS: It's a native 2D film BTW.

The caps-a-holic comparison reveals that the UHD is DNR'ed.
I don't think the pictures reveal much improvement in other areas...

The UHD has slightly better colors and clarity. I wouldn't rely on screenshot comparisons too much.

Except there is grain in plenty of shots in the movie.

All 4k movies are 2D, 3D movies are blu-ray only.

IMO there's a very nice expansion to the dynamic range on this, nothing major but enough to set it apart from the prior BD and even the newly mastered one.

The 4K is only really better in the colors, which doesn't necessary have to do with HDR and whatnot but rather that the color choices appear very close to the early releases from the 90s. That said, closer to original is better IMO.

I Couldn't find the Little mermaid live action thread. Does anybody know if it was closed due to white racists? I was wondering since Ariel will be black will they also have her father black and will they have Prince Eric black too I would hate to see her fall and drool all over some white boy, it would not come off good imo

Is that really happening? My god...sorry Disney but Ariel has always been red-haired with pale skin. Nothing against the African-American community of course...but really?

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=277977
Please go complain there cause I really don't care to get notified about live action remakes crap on the original animated Little Mermaid thread.
Thank you.
