whats the difference between the HTR systems from yamaha and the RX-V systems
The way I understand it, the HTR series are sold exclusively on the internet by authorized dealers. The RX-V series OTOH are sold by authorized dealers at retail stores and outlets like Best Buy, Frys Electronics, etc.

Otherwise, there is no difference between the series except their prices. The HTR may be slightly less expensive. You can visit the Yamaha web site to find out what the equivalent HTR series is for like the RX-V665 or V765 and where to get them.

Get ready to hear the house shake. There is some big LFE in this movie. Serious window rattling stuff. I now know I need a subriser. My old sub did nothing compared to the PA-120.

Let us know what you think.

Agreed. FOTR is certainly a big upgrade over the DVD version.

I just watched the opening of TTT last night and it looks very nice on my 42 inch TV. I'm looking forward to see the rest of it.

well you can only buy as the set. No individual release. They are all in the same 6 disc blu case also with the extras...

get your new receiver first!

UPDATE FROM SOUND DISTRIBUTORS:

The shipped my new amp at the end of last week. I should be getting it here in the next few days. As soon as I get tracking info I will post another update.

Glad it's on the way! Luckily I kept my sub from the Polk RM6750 set, but it's literally night and day between the two.

UPDATE:

The new amp was delivered last night. Like Eric mentioned in the emails, it really was plug and play. Took off the screws, unhooked two wires, plugged in the two wires for the new amp and put on the screws. Sounds just like i bought it! All is right with the world again

This weekend: Lord of the Rings!!!

Aero - you want to hear an amazing soundtrack, you should pop in LOTR. It quite possibly will break stuff in your house, as well as the neighbors!!!

Lol - Um, okay ( ). I'll prob. Netflix them until the price goes down quite a bit ($45 range).

But, check this out --- I watched (blind buy ) "DEATH RACE" with Jason Statham & Joan Allen after work yesterday. EXCELLENT Audio, great PQ, really cool action flick. Some "intense" parts for sure, def. a Hard R-Rating as some guys definitely experienced new ways to get offed' () during the races. I'd never seen it, as noted above, but I would recommend this well-made better than you might think, updated version of Producer Roger Corman's 1975 classic, "Death Race 2000" (that comes out in June, & stars David Carradine & Sylvester Stallone). He's actually listed in the opening credits of this one as one of the Exec. Producers here.

From the Review, this is pretty much all you need to know to at Least, give it a rent, but as a Blind Buy, it is worth it as well IMO: "It is the year 2012. The economy is in shambles, unemployment and crime are on the rise, and corporations run prisons for profit. Terminal Island is one such prison, and it is there that select inmates participate in a deadly new sport known as "Death Race," a fight-to-the-death automobile extravaganza where armored cars with hood-mounted machine guns race to the finish line and lay waste to everything in their path -- including their opponents."

You've never seen more Ammunition used in one movie. Well, ammo mounted on every conceivable type of Huge Automatic weapon on vehicles used in the races, that is. Again, the Audio side of the house is Outstanding, dialogue is Not lost at all amongst all the carnage & mayhem. LFE is Heavy & Intense from start to finish (no "race" pun, intended), Surround activity puts you In the movie as if you're in the drivers' seat. Every Action sequence works, not once do you think anything on the screen is Boring at all. Joan Allen plays the Warden of the prison who runs the 3-Stage races with precision, down to When cars Ammo' gets "turned on" or off for that matter, when the cars use their "defenses" while being shot at, & which makes you think, "this is what might happen to her 'Jason Bourne' CIA persona set in the future on Severe Steroids." Each car has a driver and a "navigator", who for the most part, are Hot, Sexy, Female prisoners bused in on race day (oh did I forget to mention the Races are broadcast on Pay-Per-View, $99 per Stage, or $250 for all 3 ), to help with boosting ratings. Jason Statham's navigator is the Incredibly Hott "Natalie Martinez" ( ), who Makes you hope they do a sequel of ANY kind.

Rent it or Buy it, but just watch it & tell me you didn't have a good time. Go ahead. I dare ya'.

I'll tell ya. I uh... didn't like the movie. When they started running over upgrades like a videogame and physics flew completely out the window I was kind of done.

Speed Racer I can accept but this was kind of set up as a more realistic world. That and the fact that the navigators were all hot prison women, cuz y'know that happens a lot.

LOL -- DON'T BE HATIN'

Exactly, it's just a Movie. Sometimes, in movies, many things are Not realistic... -- But I tend to at times, like watching a movie to have a good time watching it & not seeing or worrying, "oh that isn't REAL!", or "That can't be done", or, "are they kidding me?! That BUS can't fly over a 100' missing part of the Freeway!! --- Why? Because IT'S A Movie! Suspend belief and unless it's a docu-drama, or flat-out documentary, 1 or 100 things may not be real.

Of course, I know YOU get this Aramis', I'm just talking in generalities. Whenever I hear a similar argument or point being made like yours, I want to yell, "RELAX EVERYONE -- IT'S NOT REAL LIFE -- IT'S A MOVIE" --- As for the women navigators, hmmm, again --- "It's a Mo..." (ahhh hell, you get it) -- Also, if you remember, Tyrese Gibson's character had Male navigators, as he was allegedly, not into Women. Allegedly...

"Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong" (<----D. Miller)
