I kept a close eye on my credit card for the next couple months and was never charged for the second set that was sent out. ![]() |

So, is Prime Day worth it?
I have a few Shout Factory pre-orders in my cart right now. Is it safe to say these movies won't go down on Prime Day? I don't think I ever shopped on this day so not familiar with it. Do they just discount crappy stuff? |

Yeah, it's not discounts across the board, it's selected items and departments. From what I remember, they usually have some decent blu and DVD boxsets on sale. Either last year or the year before I got Cheers the complete collection for a pretty good price. Nothing huge, but I was happy with it.

Fingers crossed for some 4K deals this afternoon. Don't have high hopes of Shout Factory, Arrow, etc. being discounted for any reason, but I could see some 4K titles being part of this year's prime day. Maybe some good TV on DVD sets that I don't have as well.

Pretty sure there will be zero deals on media this year. The past prime days have only good for clearing out all the crap that doesn’t sell most of the time.

Not that it'll surprise anyone, but I got a chance to peak at the Prime Day deals for Blus before the website crashed, and they were literally listing their usual crap at regular prices. Nice Guys for their usual "low price" of 9.99. Scream Factory's Slither Blu was 29 bucks.
Steer clear in case you weren't already aware. |

Blade Runner 2049 and It (both standard Blu-rays) are 12.99. AFAIK it's the lowest they've ever been in Canada.
I recommend that if you're going to buy It, wait for either the combo pack with Chapter 2 or the extended edition they've been promising, which will likely come with the theatrical cut. These films are the kind that will be reissued constantly so if you're not in a rush to own it, hold off for now. |

Their website keeps redirecting to the landing page for me -- I either have to search for items or access them via a link.

Looks like a bunch of 4K on sale. Dark Knight Trilogy at $34.99 seems like a good deal. Not sure what the best way to view them outside of searching manually right now. Site keeps crashing when I try to go through the actual deals.
