Ive bought a few import games from them (most recently the Phoenix Wright trilogy JP cart since it also has English). Sometimes they go on sale, not very often & from what ive seen its usually the not very popular titles. The only time a sold out game never comes back is if its OOP. Otherwise they keep getting stock, especially if its a more recent release. Not sure how long that will take though.

Thanks everyone for the information...

Yeah, that's a shame that I want to be an honest customer and piracy is hurting my experience. I don't know if we won't buy a switch as a result, but that really puts a damper on it.

The other problem is that not all games support cloud saves, such as Pokémon and Animal Crossing, so even if you had the game physically, you still couldn’t move between multiple Switches. I considered getting a Lite for when I’m on the go, but that limitation means I decided against it. It sucks that Nintendo chose not to support cloud saves on those games, they cited cheating as their reasoning, but it just causes problems. If your Switch ever breaks, there goes your save file.

Yeah, there's definitely some big drawbacks to the way they've set the save thing up.

It's just moot for me as both Switches only get used by me and my original one will likely never leave the house (and maybe never even the dock) again so it will always be online--baring my internet being down and then I'd just play on the Lite that's the primary.

So far, the games (out or upcoming) that don't have cloud save support haven't affected as they're either things I have no interest in or things like Animal Crossing that I'd only play portably on the Lite anyway as it's not the type of game I'm going to sit down at the TV and play. Though honestly I don't play my Switch on TV much anyway as I'd rather use that time for PS4 or PC games with better graphics (or online games on those platforms that I'm playing with friends). Switch mostly gets used while watching sports on the TV or gaming in bed or out on our deck etc.

Oh, also forgot to mention, for some games that don't support cloud save you may be able to do the manual save transfer (which you can also do if you don't pay for Nintendo Online and thus don't have cloud saves). I imagine things like Splatoon 2, Pokemon and Animal Crossing that may be blocked too--but maybe not as doing the manual transfer you only have that save on one console at a time.

It basically, to use common computer lingo, is "cutting and pasting" the save file from one Switch to the other rather than "copy and pasting." With cloud saves the save is going to the cloud and then can be downloaded to any other Switches on that same account. With the manual method you have to put the two Switches near each other and it does a local wireless moving of the save from one to the other and it can only be on one device at a time.

So Scarface and others may want to look up if the manual transfer works for some of those games that don't have cloud saves that are keeping you from buying a Lite etc.

If you go to the eShop and look at Account Info, it’s the last item under your user info. Dmaul1114’s method might be easier...

I’ve done that with Pokémon, Let’s Go. I made a new account on my Switch, specifically for one of the games — in this case, for the Eevee version — then once I got all the Pokémon I needed to trade, I put that account on my niece’s Switch so I could trade with myself. It allowed me to get all 153 Pokémon, including both regular and Alohan forms, in the Pikachu (my main) version.

Although it’s a fairly painless process, transferring your accounts is still a pain in the butt, especially considering it only works of both Switches are plugged into AC power. You need the outlet space and it’s time consuming. Just picking up another Switch and downloading a single save file is much easier.

Its now passed the estimate life sales of the Xbox One family. Crazy.

Will pass the SNES by year end and probably finish December around 52mil units.

I hope there's a good Black Friday sale on the regular Switch.

So glad for Nintendo. Pretty remarkable considering where Nintendo was at just 3 short years ago. I've said it for the longest time. The industry NEEDS Nintendo! People scoff at them for being too kiddy. Too stuck in the past. Believe me I've given them plenty of grief myself. But Nintendo's games look like no one else's, plays like no one else's, and just possess a charm that no other developer has been able to capture.

This was the best Q2 for Nintendo in over a decade, driven by the launch of Nintendo Switch Lite and strong Link's Awakening launch.

Nintendo reported Q2 FY19 revenue of ¥272 billion, up 23% YoY. Operating Profit was ¥67 billion, up 116% YoY. Digital was a key driver.

Quote:
Here is a look at Q2 revenue breakdown.

The Nintendo Switch platform now accounts for 93% of Nintendo's revenue.
3DS is dead (F's in chat).
Mobile is still a small percentage.
amiibo, classic consoles and other revenue has cooled.

Mobile games are making Nintendo more money than 3DS games in 2019.

Switch Lite is off to a strong start. In just ten days, Nintendo has reported that the new system option sold 1.95 million units worldwide. According to president Shuntaro Furukawa, the company will make more 3DS franchises available on Switch to convey appeal of Lite.

I wouldn't expect one until at least December, but I'm thinking we don't get one until early next year actually.

I think we'll get some announcements at the VGAs. I fully expect a BotW 2 trailer/release window announced there.

At bare minimum competition breads creativity and makes things better for the consumer in the end. I love that Nintendo plays by their own rules and does their own wacky thing. They absolutely make stupid choices and blunders, but that's inevitable being so out of the box. But when they hit it on the head, its games are amazing.

Kohls just put up their BF ad.

Nintendo Switch + carrying case + controller charging dock for $320, which would give you $90 in Kohls Cash for later use.

The Mario Kart Black Friday bundle is the old Switch without extended battery life, an fyi for anyone who plans to pick it up. There's not any discount outside of MK being "free", so you'd be better off picking up one of the updated systems if battery life is a concern for you.

I am assuming battery life if used as a hand-held? Because mine will 90% likely be used while docked.

Correct, battery is only a handheld factor. A nonissue for you in that case.
