Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the Dutch Spidey is out and it's a 2-disc release with the 2D and 3D movie occupying the same disc.

Is that healthy nowadays with all the new encoding technologies available?

9,800 yen equals a lot of money for one movie in a box.
Too bad since it's a nice package.

I would think it will be at least $30 possibly even lower.

I just saw this for the first and found it enjoyable despite a sense of deja vu at certain parts. I enjoyed the less campy tone than Raimi's first, however I didn't find the Lizard as appealing a villain. Garfield gave a strong performance as Peter and you could see the chemistry between him and Emma Stone (didn't Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst end up dating too?) which brought a lot of emotion to the film. Hopefully for the sequel, away from explaining the origin, Marc Webb can deliver an even better film.

I agree with some of the stuff you pointed out here. Though I though I thought the Lizard was interesting villian in the sense that it is a villian that we haven't seen before on film and I thought that the CGI they did on the character was impressive.

I watched this last night and quite enjoyed it. With that said though, I still enjoy the Sam Raimi films a bit more.

I'd give it a solid 7/10. Good but not great.

Sorry, late to the thread, but is the steelbook the only special packaging for this or is Target doing a digi?

I usually go with the digi if there's a choice. Special packaging with pictures beats special packaging with no pictures for me.

So falling in love is a cliche now? You must have a cold, cold heart.

seriously...

Peter Parker's love life is about as essential to the character as him getting bit by a spider and uncle ben dying.

If you have a problem with it, then Spider-Man is not the superhero for you

Avatar is done in the same way and it looks incredible. I mean, it is probably THE BEST looking 3D AND 2D Blu-ray.

But Sony's have some issues before(Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs had a weird frame shifting problem in 2D though it still looked great IMO, and Underworld was riddled with digital artifacts and whatnot on its 2D version) when doing this.

I accidentally walked in my local retail and accidentally bought this
The Amazing Spider-Man Steelbook (TH)

[Show spoiler]

front and back cover is continued artwork

surprisingly it comes with booklet...

and yes... it's in english

To be honest actually I'm looking forward for the bestbuy artwork instead of this one but it turns out that this easily becomes one of my top steelbooks of the year
