I don't regret leaving it behind. I'm only frustrated that I don't know what to do next.
Thank you for sharing! Sorry things didn't work out for you. Hopefully, the next stage in your career will be even more fulfilling then the last.

I'm interested in breaking into the film industry as a set designer and/or production designer. I'm currently working as an architectural intern, but I'm moving to ATL at the end of the year to "follow my dreams" (so to speak).

I wish you luck. If it's something you're passionate about doing and hope to sustain that passion, I say go for it. You can't know if you'll like something unless you try it, so that's the first step!

That's how I feel about going into psychotherapy, wish classes were starting before January 18 but I know I wasn't ready to go back to school last month. Right now I'm thinking about pain in new places, first time in months of going to the gym. Need to get some training from my almost relative soon so I can learn more weight-lifting exercises and speed up the muscle building process.

I know I have a flair for being melodramatic sometimes, so I'm not speaking to anyone in particular. Doing my best to hold on for dear life and struggling. I'm sure it's just as hard for other people; just wish I knew where to get some good advice. It's too impossibly hard all the time, all of it, but especially having to try so hard all the time just to keep my head above water.

All I can say is(since I don't know why your situation is so hard) is to ask someone else you really trust for advice. I have a co-worker who's been a great source of advice and now I'm about to head back to school to get myself a new career that will hopefully lead to a life that's less difficult soon. Well probably not that soon but it's still a light at the end of the tunnel that wasn't there before.

As mentioned above, it would be hard to be specific as I have no idea of the issue you are undergoing at the moment. I am assuming you haven't got anyone to ask or you would have already done so.

Nevertheless, I can offer some suggestions if you would like to share what is troubling you. If no one takes you up on the offer, feel free to drop me a pm.

Anyone else really dislike the Sonic the Hedgehog games? I couldn't put my finger on what it was about them that bugged me as a kid, but now I realise it's their on-the-rails mechanics that ruins it for me. The fact that you've very little control over what's going on due to how fast Sonic is moving, seems to be what kills it for me. I just don't like how you end up losing all your rings due to bumping into an enemy that was off-screen less than a half a second ago. Sure, you could go slow and plod through the level, but surely the appeal of Sonic is to run at speed so he can traverse those loops and launch himself off those springs and stuff?

Rich and Jack agree...

NSFW:

They start talking about the issues with speed at around the 6:00 mark...

I feel less of a freak now that I know I'm not the only one who finds Sonic to be a bit meh.

I've never cared for Sonic either. Might have played one of the first games for like a few minutes and quit forever.

Yeah, growing up during the 90's, I chose my side in the Nintendo vs. Sega console war:

Life-long Nintendo fan here as well.
I was gutted when for Christmas one year, I got a Sega Genesis.

There were like only 4 games on it that were any good.
Sonic. Which got super boring after a short time.
Terminator 2. Side scrolling FPS. 2 player.
Terminator. 3rd person, side scrolling. Played as Kyle.
X-Men... something something...

Jurassic Park sucked
Toe jam and earl was ok.
and that is literally all I can remember ever playing.
In fact, I only ever owned 2 games for that system.

Thinking about how the melatonin I'm taking seems to be working, also thinking about the oatmeal and eggs breakfast I'm becoming accustomed to. Not to mention my trip to NMSU before I head to work in the afternoon to decide whether I will stick with my current major or switch to social work.

Yeah, I much prefer Nintendo over Sega, but Sonic was one of the best games for Sega Genesis. Frustrating, but fun.

Oh yes. very much so. Casino world was a true pain!

Oh, and I'm not sure how I forgot...
There were 2 really, really good, almost great games on the Genesis...
Streets of Rage and Road Rash!

I still play Sonic games, even the newer ones people hated. Sonic 1 & 2 are classic, the 3rd was awesome as you could play as Knuckles. Some of the later games are terrible, but I still enjoyed them despite some poor mechanics. Oh, and I loved the cartoon series in the 90s.
