I cancelled mine months ago, i hope i havent been charged with anything else. Wouldn't be surprised since they charged me twice one month earlier this year.

Two showings of Halloween, one of which they removed early in the morning and one showing of The Hate U Give, and both were allegedly "supported" films on their list. Time to quit when they won't support their "supported" films. MoviePass is nothing but a scam unless you exclusively use e-ticketing, and people are starting to have issues with even that now. Get off the Titanic and into the lifeboats before it's too late. |

I don't see why you should replace your credit card. If moviepass really wanted to screw people, they'd renew all the annual subscriptions for another year's payment, then close up shop. Even though that would be completely against their own T&C's (which they change seemingly every month now.)

I'm not getting the disappearing showtimes like I've heard complaints about. So many people on Reddit are claiming all showtimes disappear at 11am.
![]() Last time I used MoviePass (at a non e-ticket location), I checked in at 5:49pm for a 7:00pm showing. No issues. |

I just looked up the showtimes on my app. The vast majority of theaters only has one evening showtime listed. And of course they'll all disappear from the app in a few hours. |

I finally canceled today as well. The only reason I had stayed is because I had 1 e-ticketing theater nearby however it seems that Studio Movie Grill has pulled their e-ticketing option now so I really can’t use the app anymore.

I got an email a few days ago saying I could come back at a 30% discount (6.99 a month) for 3 months, and then one again extending the offer today.
I'm guessing they are desperately trying to boost their subscription numbers before next reports/meetings, but given how bad they got in August and what I read about them now, so happy to have left the service (I took the partial refund for annual subscription), and I hope these tactics don't lure people into somehow thinking MP is a good deal anymore. |

You are the second person to say their SMG stopped accepting moviepass... its the only location I go to anymore with moviepass since its a terrible service without eticketing. Hopefully mine lasts until mid-December when my year is up. Saw Halloween today at Studio Movie Grill and it worked normally.

I just got a new Moviepass card in the mail, with a note saying they have switched prepaid card providers so my old card is invalid now. Of course, when I tried to activate the new card online, the activation web page was 404'd.
Did this happen to anyone else? My membership ends in March, but until then I still want to use it. |

I don't think that MoviePass is going to take money from our credit cards out of the clear blue after we've canceled.
The trick is to avoid the sneaky “opt in” stuff that they might try to throw your way. If you cancel MoviePass, then try not to use your MoviePass app again before the final cancellation date becomes effective, because they reportedly throw some pop-ups at you to trick you into opting back in for a new term. After I canceled my MoviePass the other day, I saved my cancelation email confirmation, and I also deleted the app entirely from my iPhone. It's best to avoid any association, even tangentially, with the company after you cancel your membership. |

After midnight when the showtimes refresh and every regular price showing appears (and before MoviePass starts removing showtimes and movies), go to the movie theater listing you want to attend and leave the app on that theater's showtimes, don't swipe out. Then check into whatever you want when you get to the theater.
On my iPhone I can press the home button to get out of the app, and when I return to the app it'll still be on that listing. If you exit out of the showtimes to another part of the MoviePass app, it will refresh to match all the changes they made. Not really a trick used for going into a non-listed movie since they don't require a photo anymore although it can be used for that, but it's still helpful for getting the showtime you want since they're being jerks and removing times left and right. |
