Same here. I might also check out Rupert Everett’s Oscar Wilde biopic at that same theater, The Happy Prince. He wrote, directed, and is starring in it. It has a good cast and is getting good reviews.

I saw the preview of that before The Wife and do want to see it but now with our city down to one 2-screen Landmark theatre, they're only carrying the bigger indie releases and having one off showings of others.

Our other Landmark got sold off to our cities Film Festival company and instead of running new films, it's all one off's of older films and local indies.

MoviePass doesn't have the cash to pay for movies anyone wants to see. One weekend of Hunter/Killer would probably wipe them out.

I did the app trick for Bad Times at the El Royale, but I also joined AMC A-List so I don't have to deal with MoviePass's nonsense. I've already gotten my money's worth with them. My annual membership still has 4 months to run, and maybe I'll use them for some movies down the road, but right now I'd rather have freedom of choice with AMC.

It is quite good. Everett plays Wilde in the 3 years between his release from prison and his death. There's a terribly sad scene toward the beginning of the film in which Wilde is given the cold shoulder on the street by people who knew him. The scene cuts between quick flashbacks of them laughing at Wilde's plays and then insulting him viciously when an actress friend stops to talk to him and give him some money. You can see Wilde's deep hurt behind his mask of nonchalance when he is threatened by the former fans for having the temerity to speak to them in broad daylight.

I kicked moviepass to the curb 3 months ago and I switched over to AMC A List and I am more than happy with A list. I usually watch 2 movies a week and I often see movies in IMAX or Dolby so I am saving a lot with A List. Anyone who is holding out hope moviepass is going to get better it aint.....get out now Abandon all hope ye who enter here

I'm done. Its been fun. I saw 45 movies in 11 months. Mostly at my local Regal where tickets are around $11-$13. I'd say it was well worth it.

I saw 24 movies with the $105 membership, and it was a good run, but there was only one theater, an eTicketing Studio Movie Grill, that has been still working for me during the past couple of months. Today, however, I noticed that MoviePass was showing no availability at this theater, so I figured that to be the final nail in the coffin.

Now, I'm going to be watching my emails like a hawk to be sure that they don't pull anything sneaky, and I will also refrain from using the app again as not to be tricked by app pop-ups and such.
I jumped from one ship to another by signing up for the AMC Stubs A-List membership last week just after canceling my MoviePass.

There's an AMC theater just a mile down the street from where I live, and I do a lot of business there, so this makes sense.

Signed up for Sinemia, and couldn't figure that stupid app out. So I purchased a ticket through MoviePass for my $2 off.

Literally nothing beats MoviePass...even still.

AMC A-List beats it badly. It's so much easier to use and I can count on them not going bankrupt.

But AMC doesn't show the movies I want to see. So for me, it's not even an option.

But AMC doesn't restrict me to 1 movie a day at a random showing that may or may not disappear later in the day, and even if all that goes right could possibly have an app "issue" because they can't afford to provide the service they advertise. So it is easily better.

What's the point of being able to go to more than 1 movie a day if I don't enjoy the movies I'd be seeing?

I need my indies. My foreign films. AMC doesn't play those. So no, AMC holds literally 0 value for me.

Also, I've never not seen all 3 films of my month with MoviePass. In fact, since they instated the 3 movie a month rule change, I've still gone to see 5-6 with MoviePass, using the check in for the $2 off the ticket price.

Moviepass may work for you, but the statement of it is a better overall service is just wrong. It has way too many drawbacks. It works for you, and that is wonderful again for you. It holds 0 value for me because I don't wish to have my life planned around the random days Moviepass will allow me to see a movie I want to see, especially when I can only go during the weekdays after like 6:30 pm. The service is not dependable enough for me. Far too many times, movie times I could go to would disappear or in general movies I wanted would disappear. Their service is garbage. Hence all the complaints they get.

I’m enjoying both Moviepass and AMC A-List. I use Moviepass for Regal and Landmark. My closest AMC is good about having indie, limited release, and foreign films, but the Regal and Landmark theaters near me still get several movies every month that AMC doesn’t. For me the two services compliment eachother.

I'm doing the MoviePass + Sinemia for double the fun. There is one art-house theater that MoviePass has never covered, but Sinemia does. I used to go all the time, but since getting MoviePass last year, I haven't been at all. It'll be nice to be able to add that to my rotation.

I might keep Moviepass just to use squarely at my Landmark to see all my indies that AMC isn't showing. It's an e-ticket theatre, so until they break their agreement with them, it'll work for me.

That's what I've been using mine for. My Landmarks. Although, I did have some pretty good luck with evening showings at Alamo.

MoviePass is also worth it to keep using for the $2 off ticket prices. Combine it with matinee or Tuesday showings...and you can see a movie for super cheap, once your 3 monthly views are up.
