The title of the thread encompasses both.

It doesn't add that much value, but it's a nice place to show off and be happy about your recent purchase, I think. I mean, aren't we here all movie enthusiasts? Doesn't it make sense to be enthusiastic about things?

I do like to hear reviews as well, but I can still appreciate the pictures of just the recent purchased/received titles, too.

"The Martian" had outstanding depth and no ghosting with a few pop out effects like the storm scenes. I rated the movie a 9.
Hi cyber,

I was thinking about Escape from Planet Earth myself. Did you see War of the Worlds Goliath? That was a great sci Fi animated cartoon, intelligently written also with nice 3D but no real pop outs.

Helps when I see others purchasing those I was not sure of.

Every post can possibly steer or start a new conversation about either the movie itself or the purchasing experience, or it might boost the interest of someone else buying the movie even without a review...

I've purchased MANY movies I've never heard of after someone mentions they purchased it. Also, I've gotten to know many of the regulars here and enjoy knowing which titles they' added to his/her collections. Also, many people purchase a title when they've found a good deal or when they have found a 3D movie not available in the US. It lets me know I need to purchase it from India or the U.K. Instead.

If you only want reviews of films go to the thread of THAT particular movie and you can avoid the extraneous stuff. The thread asks what you last purchase was. Movie reviews are actually the thing that is off-topic!

I normally post my recent orders, recent purchases and reviews but sometimes I simply haven't watched anything new (but may have recently purchased something).

Joe D.>>>No on the 3 worlds. I already had Escape in 2d SD on iTunes and I liked the movie so I bought the 3D-HD movie on Blueray. I'm pretty selective about buying Blue Ray 3D and many times I'm duplicating an iTunes download, that's what I did with "The Martian" as well.

I already had this movie in HD in my iTunes library and the movie is ok. I bought the 3D version because of the exceptional 3D reviews it had recieved. Well ya can't win 'em all and I was very disappointed in 3D. Ya it had decent depth but that was it and had a lot of ghosting. I rated it a 5.

I've ordered a bunch of blu's from Zavvi UK over the last 6-8 (including a number of Disney 3D's because they have been a bargain). I've have one customer service interaction which was positive.

I tried to play a disc that I had bought a full 2 months prior, and it had a manufacturing defect that rendered it unplayable. I sent them a photo of the disc through their online support form and they sent me a replacement, no questions asked. I was surprised it was so easy considering the length of time.

Just ordered Gods of Egypt and Billy Lynn's blah blah. I've already seen God's and thought it had decent 3d but was bored with the movie outside of the visuals. The impetus to buy it came from it reaching it's actual value at Amazon; Ten dollars!

Hi Damon,

Yeah, Gods of Egypt is one of those films that is really saved by 3D. Thought the 3D was very good. If it was just decent, would not have been enough to make it a keeper for me - also at a good price used.

Hi jamietre,

Try cancelling an order within ten minutes of placing it on what would be around 3:00 A.M. on a Monday morning in England when nobody is at work. It's simply not allowing the computer software to delete the order, even if forwarded to the shipping department before anyone starts processing it.

Hi infinite,

It was really hilarious and had great 3D. The video was stunning. Audio excellent. And it was the first 3D demonstration I saw in a store!

The film got mixed reviews but not because it lacked for laughs and was recommended by bluray.com - the complaint being no development of plot and flat supporting characters but then, who needed it? We all know Yogi and Boo-Boo and that's all that's required.

Good silliness. Great 3D. Read about it here:

An interesting find today at one of my local Disc Replays...

TRON: Legacy 3D / TRON collector's 5-disc set for $10 only!

The unique and striking 2-pack lenticular slipcover was near perfect as well...

I own both of these movies already, but I couldn't resist the unique 2-pack packaging.

Everytime I've seen this set before it was around $50...

Also picked up Sanctum 3D from Universal Studios & James Cameron for $8.
