That's awesome eh! I told a buddy my story of this same thing and he called me obsessed. The only place people appreciate stuff like this, is here

I love it when certain sounds, not like full range as if you had your system in "5 channel" mode, but just certain sounds seem to come popping out of the center channel with so much distinction, when your listening in 2 channel mode It's truly awesome.

Hey callas, have you listened to any DVD audio in your system?

If you know anyone with DVD audio disks, they can be converted over to DTS master and will work off a blueray player, maintaining full bitrate and discrete 5.1.

This is when I truly appreciated by c-300s as surrounds lol

Really? I tried to listen to mine and all I get is static. How did you make yours work?

You need to rip the 24/96 DVD audio tracks into MLP files, convert them to DTS-MA, and make a AVCHD formatted DVD. All you need is a blank DVD5, some time, and the right programs.

Or perhaps in your case toeing them in more would do the trick, rather than moving the whole speaker in. I know for me the overall experience is much better with a wide distance and toe in than closer distance and more of a straight line aproach. It seems to really improve stereo seperation. Every room will be differnt though. It's just so great when you finally get it perfect.

i use the same approach. my c500s are pretty far apart, but toed in for the couch being the sweetspot. sometimes when i'm listening to a cd or watching non-hd tv i have to seriously remind myself that the center is not being used.

on a "terminator:salvation" note-it's on the way. i bought it for 15 bucks on walmart's website last week. i wasn't going to buy it, but all the comments regarding it's audio prowess definitely peaked my interest. i'm really curious to see how my subs are going to handle the really bass-heavy scenes. i just watched "sunshine" this weekend, and they got a pretty good workout...

Same approach here my C-500 are 7 feet apart and slightly toed in, imaging is perfect when listening to music really feel the center is playing which is a good thing. I personally threw Transformers Renvenge of the Fallen yesterday and OMG tha S10.3 was just insane in those scenes with Decepticons and Autobot destroyoing each other.

Wow!!!

Mine too. Toeing them in toward the sweet spot made all the difference for me.

Does anybody know of anywhere that I could get my hands on a pair of C-R100's? I've looked all over online and can't seem to find any. Seems they're the only model from the C-Series unavailable. If anyone knows please PM me. Thanks!

world wide stereo had some on ebay a week or so ago at around $75 a piece. it seems that the c-r100s only pop up sparingly now, so scanning ebay regularly may be your best bet...

Default Bing Question

I recently purchased another Panny BD60 this time from from Dell using Bing Cashback. I paid with me Dell Preferred Account. I see my discount as pending & it says I have 52 days left. Is it possible to get the money credited back before then? I have it set up to be deposited directly to my bank account.

have no idea. maybe you should try bing customer service:

http://www.contacthelp.com/directory...?ListingID=721

or dell preferred account customer service:

http://dfs.us.dell.com/Pages/ContactUs.aspx

they may be more help than just random people on a message board. just a thought...

Alas, I had to go the RC Mini route, as my TV stand was 5" too shallow to have the tv and centre sitting on top.

...and no, wall-mounting the plasma wasn't an option, or at least that is what I was told by Mrs. Slimmer.

Your Mrs. Slimmer must be talking to my Mrs. Slimmer. She likes to have a say in those decisions too.

Nice gear slim.

I have a pair, each in a sealed box that I bought from World Wide Stereo. My plans changed and I went with RC-10s for my surrounds instead.

I took some time on my furlough Friday to play with my setup some more.

I decided to try to mount the RC-Mini surround backs right-side-up. I managed to get them turned around and when I did, the sound improved noticeably.

I never thought that having the speakers flipped upside-down would affect the sound so much.
