I know mate. It is madness. The world is set up to f**k working people over.

If this is going to be the norm going forward, I'll have to look into another way of sourcing any DF titles I may want. Not worthing making the purchase when getting screwed hard like that.

Joel, doesn't he have to put down some sort of reasonable value for the items inside. Looks like it has 5 items for $50 total, no? I don't know what you purchased, but aren't most titles $20 and up? Seems like him putting $50 on the value was a 'customs friendly' thing to do, no? You may have purchased 5 $10 titles, but that usually isn't their pricing I thought. Out of curiosity, what do they normally put down for 5 items sent to you?

Not sure I see the issue here, it looks like you received a reduced value for VAT and got out of the import duty.

Most countries have an amount they allow through without charging duty and or taxes. Canada was $20.years ago. I think it's $40. now but it may have changed again. I don't know the amounts for other countries.

The issue is I had to pay £20/$25 in customs fees, when Dark Force claim to be customs friendly. As stated, I have ordered from Dark Force before and never been hit with fees. Always had a fast, custom fee free service. The limit over here is £15. Anything above that attracts custom fees.

VS send me 4/5 Blu Rays a month and I have never been hit with custom fees.

I have orders of 20+ Blu Ray's from Diabolik a few times a year and don't get hit with fees.

If you enjoy getting gangbanged by custom fees and paying a surprise extra £20/$25 on top of your order, then no, there is no issue.

Vortexx is correct, jcs913 mate.

We have a £15 limit over here. Anything above that attracts custom fees. That means any package would need to be marked $18 or lower.

All I am saying is Dark Force has always been customs friendly. It would have been nice to know that this has changed and every order would now attract £20 on top. Not saying anything unreasonable here.

Wanged on Teenage Hitchhikers last night and watched half of it - that transfer is killer. Credit where credit is due.

So Dave, can you confirm what is happening going forward for us non USA folk please? If this is going to be the norm in the future, only fair we know so we can look for alternative options and not get hit with unexpected fees.

Cheers

Mouse and Bird, two clever runaways played by Chris Jordan and Sandra Peabody, encounter one humorous misadventure after another as they hitchhike across the countryside in search of a better life. Using any means at their disposal to scam for money, they evade the advances of a hippie rock band in an RV, they toy with a diner cook, they lure a car salesman into giving them a vehicle, they are picked up by a wealthy female who has eyes on them, they dodge a backwoods sheriff, and they even stumble into a swingers party. When they save an innocent and naive girl, played by Nikki Lynn, from an escaped rapist, they decide to take her under their wing for their various schemes.

The 1974 drive-in feature, Teenage Hitchhikers, directed by Gerri Sedley, will never be mistaken for wholesome family-friendly cinema, but the genuinely likable comedic timing of its two lead actresses, Peabody (The Last House on the Left) and Jordan, acting as Kathie Christopher, keeps it grounded and enables it to sidestep the potentially tasteless and exploitative implications of its subject matter, despite its softcore tendencies. Quentin Tarantino presented this movie at his 2005 film festival, and part of the enjoyment for astute viewers is pinpointing its influence on that contemporary director's own works.

The amusing hijinks of the titular duo are laced with a dose of cynicism. Teenage Hitchhikers parodies the late 1960s/early 1970s ideals of free love at every turn, reminding its viewers that there's no gold at the end of the rainbow. The proceedings never take a serious turn, but the possible threats to our main characters with every thumbed ride are acknowledged and readily apparent.

This movie, which was filmed in less than two weeks for a reported budget of $15,000, never really comes together like it should, and several sequences overstay their welcome, even considering the 80-minute run time. It's also nowhere near as titillating or erotic as one might assume, and most will probably just yawn at the nude scenes. If you are a connoisseur of 1970s drive-in fare, outdated aspects and all, however, then its oddball tone will take you for a fun spin.

Be on the lookout for Ric Mancini, who later appeared in 1980s movies like Ghostbusters and Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, and enjoyed supporting roles in television shows like The A-Team.

This Dark Force Entertainment Blu-ray, taken from the original 35mm negative, looks marvelous. An interview with Sedley and an audio commentary by Bill Lamond are both informative and entertaining, although the commentary track has several blank moments.

Don't know about this. That value is not what we would have put on the order and anyone that ordered from us internationally can attest to that.

DEATH RAGE turned out to be a big amount of work for us. The transfer required some major restoration and much needed scene by scene color correction. The audio was a huge challenge and mainly due to the english version. Trying to conform it to the Italian cut was very tough and it actually fluctuated between English and Italian audio. Fortunately we feel the end result of our work on this release is definitely going to be the best currently available on the market. And it will contain all of the violence and nudity from the Italian version. It's another one of those awesome Italian movies that never got a proper high def release but did get many mediocre DVD ones.
