Also, a few people I have crushes on at work are so confusing. One day they'll joke around with me and the next they ignore me so I just don't know anymore so I leave them alone and let them make the first move and sometimes they do.

I've given up trying to understand people at work, they never cease to do things I wouldn't expect them to do.

Yeah. This one person I like put their hand on my cap and playfully pushed it down, then a few minutes later brushed up against me as they walked by me. I would like this person as a friend at least.

Meet one at the gym. You seem to be there so much. You can pump up together.

I wish there was a Missed Connections.. but for potential friends.

Was at this small local restaurant today and it was kind of packed so I asked this guy if I could sit beside him while I waited for my order. He said "as long as you don't bite" and that started an interesting 10-15 minutes of random small talk and us just being weird and smiling at each other and checking our phones. The businesses' wifi was locked but I figured out the password and gave it to him and he thanked me. And I awkwardly said "bye" and he said "have a good one" lol I'm terrible at making friends.

I've been trying to find an old childhood friend.
I signed up on facebook just to see if she was on there and nothing.
She moved away just as we started to develop feeling for each other.
She was my first crush/love.
I have no idea other than the state she moved to back then where she could even be.
I can still, 20 years later, remember exactly how she smelled, how she smiled, how she looked, how she felt.
If nothing else, I'd just like to know she is ok.

I dealt with the same thing. She was my first friend though not a crush. We were friends from 1st-6th grade until moved across the country. I finally looked her up on Facebook last year and we chatted a bit....It was nice. She is happily married and just had her first child. Nice to know she's doing well.

Keep in mind you liked her for what she was at that specific moment in time. She could be a completely different person now.

I find that for people over 30 (in North America anyway), the chances of them being on social media is more like 50% as opposed to 70% of people under 30 who have something on facebook or twitter at least.

I'm over 35. I've done some casual Facebook searches for old chums and crushes, and I've found very few of the people I wanted to find. However, I easily found plenty of people I didn't like back in the day . Sometimes people don't want to be found by old school chums, and they don't list their old schools in their profiles, making the narrowing down of searches even harder.

Have you tried some of those schoolmates search sites? You might have some luck there. I actually found one of my old crushes had a profile on one of those sites (profile was created in the early 2000s though, I only found it around 2010), but obviously, I didn't contact her.

tried all the sites I could think of.
The bad part is, I don't know which City/Town that she moved to.
I only know the state.

Well, for my old crush, it was a similar situation as you. We got close, then she moved away.

All I knew was her name and put in the school we went to together as the main starting point. That's basically all I needed to find her profile on the schoolmates search site I used. (I think it was Classmates.com after a quick google just now)

There's not much more you can do if that doesn't work, though, other than making it so other people can find you if they search for you. I've had a Facebook account with relevant info for about 10 years now and not one old school chum has contacted me in that time (partly to my relief, too).

Just in the the first 5+ pages of A Scanner Darkly, the movie Bug (2006) is almost spelled out. I recognized that movie years ago but couldn't remember from where. Whoa Déjà vu, have I already mentioned this in here? Anyone remember me commenting on this?

Well personally I do like finding people I know on FB. However I am a relatively private person so I don't like being easy to find on there. I imagine quite a few people are the same way. One reason I can think of is you can get in trouble with employers or relatives for social media content, best way to avoid that is to minimize the number of people you friend.
