I am watching it on film1 live, but I can't stand those fake presenters and women... They all act like they are truly interested in each other, but they are just a bunch of jealous, fake *****es... (can I say this on the forum? ).

I am not interested in that red carpet crap... its all about fashion and shit, that's boring !! I want to see the living legends, I am not interested in fancy 'movie stars' and dresses. I want to hear Clint Eastwood, Steven Spielberg, etc. speaking.

I do need to see Amour and as loved as they are, Cache and Funny Games did nothing for me so I'm adamant about watching a Haneke film although I still need to see The White Ribbon.

There's only a few categories that have nominees that I'm really pulling for:

Best Picture: Zero Dark Thirty

(Personally I think ZD30 is a better film than Argo but I don't think it has much of a chance. If Silver Linings Playbook pulls a Shakespeare in Love-style upset, I wouldn't mind at all.)

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis

(This one seems to be a certainty and well deserved as DDL once again proves that he is the greatest living actor.)

Best Actress: Jessica Chastain

(Perhaps the most difficult decision for me as both Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence were terrific.)

Best Original Screenplay: Django Unchained

(Possibly QT's best writing since Pulp Fiction.)

Song: Skyfall

(Adele really knocked this one out of the park.)

Cinematography: Skyfall

(I really thought Skyfall was beautifully shot but wouldn't be upset if Django Unchained won it.)


That's about it for me personally. I don't really have a strong opinion on the rest of the categories.

100% with you on both of those. I'm not an Adele fan by any means but it's not only a great Bond song, it's a great song in general.
