Universal isn't delaying the movie. Still being released July 11, 2014 They must be pretty confidant they have enough footage of Walker to be able to work around it in the storyline. I wish them well when they resume filming. |

Universal said in the Deadline article they are sticking with the July 11, 2014 release date despite the production delay and Walker's death. |

Thats good to hear. I'd love to see as much Paul Walker as possible in the film. |

While a January restart is the goal, it is far from certain. Sources say the film's July 11 release has been scrapped (Fox moved its Dawn of the Planet of the Apes to that slot). But insiders are confident Universal will release a seventh Fast and probably an eighth. |

interesting article. my idea even a silly-one at that is if they had to scrap all of Walker's footage do to insurance purposes/creating a natural arc to the story blah, blah, blah, then instead of killing Han off, just re-shoot Walker's scenes with Sung Kang. U figure at the time Tokyo Drift was made that ending certainly didn't mean the end of Han. U could easily forget the tag scene with Dom that sets up events after TD since we are now at that point in the series. Once the bluray of Fast 7 hits they have all of Walker's scenes added back as a special feature listed as a "workprint" or something like that. Either way no matter how you look at it, its going to be a very, very sensitive subject since Walker died in real life. I wonder if anyone within the production is even reading any of social media and the fans of the series how they would like to see things play out. There are lots of good ideas out there that pay tribute to him. Obviously had the movie been in post-production, the only issue Universal would have is marketing the movie, which of course will still be part of the logistics nightmare when it actually does get completed.

I know this might be "insensitivity" but it's the best way to take it out of the series. Plus, this would not be the first time a character died in this series like that aka Han. |

Theirs only two ways to go about the sad passing of Paul Walker and the continuation of the series. The first and easiest option would be to kill off his character in F&F 7 or option two which would be to recast the role. The hole idea of Brian going into witness protection and leaving Dom and company is total BS and wouldn't fly or fit into the series which is about family and standing together.
I know he's like six or seven years younger but I think casting Charlie Hunnam in the role of Brian O'Conner could work out very well.So again my second option of recasting the role would be to leave in the parts that Paul did and use another actor to finish out the film and possibly carry on with the role. |

Here is a link to a good article I read that says it might come down to money on what they do with Paul Walker character. Universal could get up to 150 million if they start over. If they kill walker on screen like a car crash or some kind of explosion that could also be an option because of so many people wanting to go see the movie to just see how they kill him off.

I cant believe someone suggested that they film Walker's funeral and put it in the movie for O' Connors funeral.

Yeah I don't agree with that. His real funeral needs to be off limits and should be family only which I heard it is. No one is dumb enough to use a real persons funeral in a movie.
