...and they're fixing only the "international" (non-U.S.) ones at that. Getting rather annoying now, as I don't import, and I refuse to buy Fury, The Interview and Annie until Sony gets 'em fixed here too!
Really do not see the issue with Fury. Yes it's a little dark in places but by no means crushed. The Interview and Sex Tape, that's black crush in bucket loads!

By far the worst I've seen is Transendance (not Sony, I know).

Thanks

Just popped the disc in for a look after looking at those screen comparisons. It is there, I did need to look for it. But saying that without been told about it I was happy with the transfer and presumed that was the look they were going for when making the movie.

Well it's by no means unwatchable like the interview.

No problem.

That's understandable. Had it been creative intent I could look past it... Well, not really, but at least I could understand and enjoy the end product somewhat better.

I wanted to pick Fury from Target yesterday, but I'll pass it up until I hear official word of a replacement or corrected version coming. I'll import if I have to, but I shouldn't 'have to'

After reading the comments on the pages you referred me too, it appears that the US version is still the best one? The colour is to s*!t on the German version.

Importing? Welcome to my world.

Go Polish (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Fury-Blu-ray/128950/). It's a beautiful disc, and it's Region A-capable.

When I was the OP, I definitely included it at the top of the list since it was released before Fury. James Luckard has bumped it down a bit as a "maybe" title, but yes, the BD is much darker than the VUDU version.

I moved it to "possible" because all I saw in the thread were caps of the BD. They definitely looked hideous, but all the other titles had comparison caps to other Sony releases (DVD, Ultraviolet, Vudu, Netflix, etc), showing a clear contrast.

It also seemed like a weird outlier, since it's not in the brief Jan-Mar run with the other affected titles. I thought it was conceivable the title was just completely botched on all platforms, without seeing comparison caps.

I was hopeful that Sony itself would look at the thread and preferred to err on the side of being overly safe and not assuming anything. I'm happy to move it from "possible" to "definite" though if someone can provide links to comparison caps.

James, the movie was so bad that I deleted it from my UV library. Maybe someone else who still has it can make screencaps that match the BD caps here at BD.com.

I think James just added that blurb back in today, as I'm pretty sure there was nothing anywhere in the OP about Sex Tape last night when I made my post about it. Regardless, glad it's back in the mix now so I don't eventually brainfart and forget about it when Fry's eventually puts it on sale for $3 some day...

Had the other three been fixed in the U.S. by now, I would've gladly picked 'em up in Target's BOGO sale this week. The wait continues...

It was there all along, I had just forgotten to bold/underline it like the other film titles, so it probably didn't stand out properly. I fixed that today.

As soon as there's a link to some sort of comparison caps to show SEX TAPE is definitely a crushed BD, with normal other versions, like the rest of the titles, and not a title that was just entirely messed up on every platform by some fluke accident, I'll switch it in with the others.

I absolutely agree, no argument, the BD looks like garbage based on the caps here. I just want to be 100% certain it's part of the specific problem this thread is for.

Wha'?! I call BS, unless you're playing semantics here and are currently converting your whole HD collection to digital. Just counted, and I have 130 Sony titles. Yikes! Is that bad? There's just no way you only own at most four of the following (among many others):

American Hustle
Bridge on the River Kwai
Close Encounter
Da Vinci Code
Easy A
A Few Good Men
Gandhi
Ghostbusters
Jerry Maguire
Karate Kid
Lawrence of Arabia
Men In Black
Spidey x5
Stand By Me
Taxi Driver
Etc., etc., etc...
(and I left out most of the "cheesier" stuff)

Ah, OK. Yeah, in my old age, I need things underlined and bolded to actually see them! Thanks for the update.

I did this comparison once.

By clipping the RGB range of a correct image from a foreign BD to match the US BD
They were almost a 100% match.

Unfortunately the site isn't working for me atm so I can't pull it up

What are the chances of My Girl coming out in one of those white boxed numbered 'Sony Collectors' Editions?

You know like Taxi Driver, Groundhog Day etc?
