My UK set arrived today. Getting ready to watch the first.

BTW, for those looking for it, Zavvi still has it, but jacked up the price to $51.19 US. Shipping is cheap - something like $2. I got it in 9 days.

No, it has an 8 digit SKU, meaning it's an online only item.

Still waiting on my set here in Nebraska. Hopefully this doesn't turn into my last zaavi experience and take 6 weeks to show up.

If you have a Fry's Electronics or Barnes and Noble store near you, there's a good chance they might carry it in store. They've had other recent Arrow releases.

I've read a review and scanned the forum but can't seem to find any info if this features the original licensed music or the 'remade' music that previously appeared on the Anchor Bay dvd. Does anyone know if the music issue is corrected?

Mine arrived today as well and amazingly in one piece. Not withstanding the previously mentioned framing issue, the packaging itself is really outstanding. Arrow's Bound Book is gorgeous as well as the very solid smoothly finished outer box. This is one of the few boxed sets I plan on placing on the shelf intact. I generally remove the blu-ray cases from the box and only shelve those. Hell, even the ratings Logo's are at a minimum on this set. The spine side of the box as well as the blu-ray case spines are logo-free.

Honestly I don't think it would survived the trip to NC if it wasn't for Arrow's extremely sturdy outer box. Amazon.UK sent it in a cardboard mailer without any protection at all and the bottom cardboard flap was so loose anyone could have opened it up and slid it out. Perhaps Customs had a hand in that one. Anyway, it arrived with only a very, very small dent to one corner so I consider myself extremely lucky. Won't be able to dig into what really counts until the weekend but look forward to revisiting these films. Until then, I'll just watch the box they came in.

all the music has been panned too far to the left side, apparently.

Zavvi sent mine in a bubble mailer. It had a small dent in one corner, but it was fine overall.

I got mine today also. Box was falling apart and open yet luckly everything was fine. Set is really nice. The little hardback book is great.

This was really given a nice treatment.

Dude's pretty much impossible to please, AFAIK.
Maybe you should read more of my comments regarding other titles before posting insulting conjecture and snide comments clearly meant to antagonize.

I've defended plenty of Blu-rays worthy of praise which got unjustifiably shit on (The Great Escape, for example) and have bumped threads to bring attention to fantastic releases which seem to have been neglected by many (SF's Carrie). What I'm not going to do is blow smoke up a company's ass when they fail at something so simple yet so fundamental. If I see a problem with something, and it bothers me, then I'm going to talk about it. Deal with it.

I find it funny that there are people out there who go as far as making up false information and (admittedly) posting false scenarios to justify bashing solid releases, yet I'm the one that has to deal with these sorts of comments and insane PMs where I've even received death threats for defending certain releases.

I think people need to understand that an issue is an issue.
While some can be overlooked because they're negligible, they still are here. Not seeing them or being happy with the final product or not detecting the issue doesn't make it disappear.
And it's a real problem that so many people regularly come and say "you must be so hard to please". Yeah, because what's a misframed movie after all ?

Watched my copy last night. Most of the time the framing didn't bother me as much as I thought. The majority of the movie felt natural.

However.....the movie looked WAY too bright with whites blown out in various moments and poor black levels. Some nighttime shots looked like daytime. This bothered me more than the framing issue.

I'm in NC too. I wonder if mine will show up today. Hopefully in as good of condition.

Actually should have thanked you sooner. I purchased SF's Carrie after reading what you had to say. Was not disappointed, a great release. Thanks.

Small glitch in one scene of 1 of 3 cuts of Army of Darkness... SHOUT: corrects and replaces discs.

7 films misframed throughout entire film... ARROW: What, me worry?

You perfectly know that these are different types of issues, some that can be solved quickly by a replacement, others that cant.
What a biased argument.
Arrow's Theatre of blood had a small glitch on an extra, they did a replacement.
Requiescant has subs sync issues, they delayed the release to recall all the produced discs and replace them by fixed ones.
So here you go about replacements.
