Panny 35 is in my sister's room. Damn, I wish I had a system like hers at age 18.

Then I hear the Oppo 80 has come out, for only $90 more. Should I exchange it? No, I think - I don't have $90 lying around yet, and not for a while. Besides, I already have SACD capabilities.

Subwoofer hunting is hard. It's difficult to even open up the competition to non-online retailers, since you get more money for the buck online. I have an old Bowflex unit that I don't use anymore (can't, really - maxed out on it) - and it'll sell for $800 on Craigslist.

The narrow list so far is:

-HSU VTF-3 MK3 (my most eager selection)
-SVS PC12-NSD
-SVS SB12 Plus (sealed, and only 22Hz, compared to 25Hz - I want it in the teens.../no R.Kelly)
-AV123 MFW15 - I remember back when this was $599!
-eD A5s-300
-Ha. Maybe I should go nuts and get a pair of matte eD A2-300s.

I haven't seen Epik have in-stock subs in some time. Are they still in business? I wish I could afford me a JL Fathom. I do want some aesthetics, though. Have to keep the JJ standard. Something in a Walnut or Cherry finish would be perfect. Anybody have any other suggestions? I'm not considering the regular box store brands. Or multiples of anything. Wait, what if I sell the Dynamo for $300? And keep the AA? Dammit! All these possibilities.

If that were the case, I could push up to $1,100-$1,200 for a new sub, and that opens up even more options. *#&@#!^@#!^ The options on finishes on the HSU and SVS subs have me leaning towards those the most. With $1,200, that's the PB-12 from SVS. I'd be hard pressed not to go that route.

The thing again, is getting any comparative reviews. I could easily ask any of the owners of these subs what they think of them, and they would all tell me that their own subs are the best thing since heavier-than-air flight. There are only a few reviews that compare any of these at the same time, or for that matter, few people who have even heard all of them. I suppose I could go out and listen to other brands - should I even open it up to B&W, Paradigm, Martin Logan, DefTech subs? Size isn't a factor to me anymore (well, comparatively, I only have yet so many places to put one). I just want distortion free low-end extension for movies. The Dynamo has a smidge of rattle when I push it, and we all already know it doesn't go that low. It's speed is its best factor. Now I want 12-15" of driver in a sub. I know I'm going to be happy and get an improvement with whatever I get - I just don't want to lay there wishing on what could've been.

...wait, Martin Logan has new Subs based off the Dynamo?! I didnt know this! ARGH!
JJ Epik has a new sub called the Empire. It's a sealed sub with dual 15" drivers and the intro price is only $799. I think it's a good addition to your short list .

EMPIRE

Rattling's not that bad. Sheesh. It'll do just about everything without rattle until I REALLY turn up the volume and it's there.

But I still want a SVS PB-12. That might be it.

The screws on both of mine are hex socket( allen wrench ). The driver uses a 5/32 inch allen wrench, the amp plate uses a 3mm allen wrench.
This link( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Screws ) may help you identify the screw design type of yours.

Hmm, looks like I might be able to sell my Bowflex fast after all. Heeeeeeeeeello, SVS sub.

Sony N460 is a charm, chaps. Incredibly fast loading times now. With no lights on its facade like the Panny 35, my entire stand is dark during movies.

And I've finally become a gamer, after 2 1/3rd years of owning a PS3 - recently buying LOTR: Conquest, Dead Space (awesome), and Aliens vs Predator - finally created a PSN tag, JJxiv1215 - I also have RE:5 and Resistance2 if anyone throws down on those games online. Add your boy.

I thought you were leaning towards the Hsu? I wanted to get one, the VTF2 MK3, but with the price difference between that and the competitions A2-300, the wife wanted the less expensive one, but either way, I was getting a great sub. When I heard Hsu subs at BD's house, wow I was impressed.

The SVS should be nice. I have never heard them, but I hear great things about them. I am sure you will be satisfied. I have never heard the eD, But I will on Tuesday.

I'm leaning to the HSU if I can not sell my Dynamo - if I can sell the Dynamo, then it's the SVS.

Well, I've finally been armed with a DSLR.

Now to spend the entire evening taking beautiful new pictures. This could take FOREVER.

We're hanging in there - one more month to go. On my Spring Break, so figured I'd spend it taking some new shots since the setup looks, aesthetically anyway, different from the 9 month old shots currently up. I ended up taking around 440 pictures that I narrowed down to 75 - and now have to upload and add text to - another hour or three. Sheesh. Oh, but the Canon Rebel was borrowed. It is making me want my own, though. In any case, here's some previews:

Photobucket blocked, mayhaps? Strange - they'll be up shortly. What's new, Rhett? Me, grad school drags me down every now and then.

The way my OCD works, Brent, I'd have to move the acousti-columns again, take down the plaques, move the TV up - ensuring everything would still be on-center and obeying my perfect symmetry - and then move the couches back - trust me, I've given the projector idea thought at least every month - but I realize I would have to rework everything to make it look up to my standards. Couldn't just plop it in there.

And thanks, Rich. Keeping busy and all of that, you know.

That's right. But it's not too much to add one - me renting isn't what's stopping me. Plus, I'll probably be at this house another 1-2 years.
