Yes, really. I'm actually considering blind buying Kingdom of Heaven with the Walmart eCard from the whole Iron Man 2 mess. Even at 3+ hours, it's something I could definitely see myself getting into. I just never really knew much about it until I read about it here. I will probably rent The Last Samurai sometime.

You already know I'm likely to fix that since you already knew what I just told Surf. It's likely just a matter of when.

This Epic Argument is awesome

Here's My Attempt to change the pace

Misery

Director: Rob Reiner
Writer: Stephen King
Mains: James Caan, Kathey Bates.

One Crazy A$$ B1tch!!!!!!!

This was a little treat that was worth watching and i plan on watching again. One great performance by Kathey Bates, not to take anything away from James Caan but she stole this one. Another thing i would like to mention is the make up was done perfectly, a movie that old that still looks realist when it comes to gory nasty scenes.

I thought the story was worth being told but the acting really brought a more sincere feeling to the film. If you've never seen this nice little thriller you need to. Good thriller that doesnt take allot of attention to enjoy.

She's one of the best villains of all time -- maybe the best female, along with Alex Forrest and Nurse Ratchet

what made her so twisted though wasn't the
[Show spoiler]ankle bashing
, it was that she would do that and then 5 seconds later say
[Show spoiler] "god, i love you"
.

Panic Room - Man I love Jodie Foster! She is a great actress and she is the best in drama films. I just realized that Kristen Stewart was the daughter. Anyhoo great suspense and very intense. Forest Whitaker was great as usual and just a very well made film all the way around. Definite recommendation.

Film Rating - 4 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!

Well I thought things could have been carried out further no doubt but then I looked at it as a little time limited window into this town's history. I think the breakout of war would have split things up to a point where what happened in the town was not even dealt with and forgotten for many years. It's like when you have certain things in life go on a certain path like you always have until something so traumatic happens that alters that path forever. Once changed, that path leaves very little room for looking back or in many cases, room to deal with old issues. I think those issues would have been things most of those people would have been more than happy to have left behind. What do you think?

I'd have to say its fun, dont wanna admit it but after seeing it as a dark comedy i couldnt stop my self from laughing at these idiots. And i mean ALL OF THEM are IDIOTS! I think i could right an entire blog about the stupidity that happens in this movie.

My favorite part by far is when
[Show spoiler]the kidnapping part. WTF.
William H. Macy was born for this role he's a complete idiot. Most comedy movies are direct hit you in the face but after seeing Fargo i wanna see more dark comedies to see how it compares.

I also got rid of this movie but its not going anywhere now!
I feel stupid for not catching the type of movie from the get go but o well

How many other Coen brothers films have you seen? They are the dark comedy kings. "Raising Arizona" is dark, but definitely more mainstream and slapstick; a fun ride indeed. Then there's "Burn After Reading" (all characters are morons, like Fargo) and "The Big Lewbowski" which is probably the most quotable movie of all time. It also has loads of stupidity.

Their ability to crank out very good to great movies every 10 months is starting to blow my fricking mind.

Edit: I can't stand these "battle" movies you guys keep raving about.

Paul Mooney: "Tom Cruise is the Last Samurai? Really? Hollywood......you done lost your mind!"

The Road

Film: 4.5/5

-awesome film overall: great cast, great script, great directing = great movie
-Viggo put the theme better than I could in the Extras: "When you strip everything down -- when there's nothing left -- is it just about survival? Or is there something more?"
-I'd also ask: if its not just about survival, and there is some other guiding principle - whats the benefit to that which outweighs the obvious benefit to being solely guided by survival?
[Show spoiler]seemingly, by not engaging in cannibalism, their "inner fire" (or whatever you call it) burned bright, giving them hope, and -- presumably faith that good things would happen to good people. What goes around comes around, so to speak

-I also liked how God was a character in the film. Mentioned about 15 times. In any apocalyptic scenario, the conventional attitude is "how could God let this happen?" but this presumes a human-focused design. Perhaps God's design doesn't revolve around us. Shocker.
-I also liked the use of "inner fire" which is a good substitute for some who don't like the G word IMO, it doesn't matter what you call it -- an inner guiding conscience.
[Show spoiler]Viggo said his son was his god -- and in an sense he was: several times, he provided him with moral guidance.

-a few questions remained, but may be me looking for details that aren't there:
[Show spoiler]when the mom gave birth: was that to the boy? or to another kid that miscarried? how did the apocalyse happen - nuclear? or from falling trees -- I assume they're just a consequence of the apocalypse?
-I was a bit stumped at the ocean scene: why were they heading there? to meet people or for expecting more food?

PQ: 4/5 (soft and grey but obviously intentional)

AQ: 4.5/5 (great!)
