Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler together. Not just one of them.

Even if they play geriatric 80-somethings in an old age home, thrown out by their relatives, I'd still be SUUPERRRR HAPPY!!!

Kidding though, but both of them should come back in JW3 in extended cameos, if not full roles.

I would love to see both Laura Dern and Sam Neill back. Happy to see that Jeff Goldblum coming back. I love Jurassic Park it's my favourite film. And I loved Jurassic World so I have high hopes for the sequel.

Yea, doubt they'd have Both, as How many Older cast members do they want in this New series of films?

* but who knows

You make a good point there. They already have both Jeff Goldblum and B.D. Wong in the sequel. Still we can hope that they both make an appearance maybe in this sequel or another if this does well ?.

can't really believe this question was asked, but...

Goldblum will reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm, the know-it-all mathematician who came to the park as an insurance consultant — and somehow survived both the original film and the sequel.

Maybe it would go down something like this.

Claire: We need help.
Owen: I know a guy
...cue Malcolm.

The real question is how many bratty kids are going to be in this? Goldbloom is certainly a welcome addition though.

I understand the question sounds silly but, don't get me wrong, I love the actor and character but just don't see the need for Ian Malcolm in the series anymore. He's 65 yrs old and it reminds me of TFA....loved seeing Harrison Ford playing Han Solo. It was integral to the storyline. But it was difficult to watch him move and try to play the character again. It just wasn't the same. I'm worried about the new Indy movie for the same reasons. It's difficult to see actors playing roles they did a quarter of a century ago. Sometimes it's better remembering them as they were.

It's not really an action heavy role, he'll be fine. He wasn't the problem with id4-2

I get where you're coming from, but personally I look at it like this: people age, so would our favorite fictional characters. I'm looking forward to catching up with Malcolm 20 years later and seeing what he's like now. Of course he's going to be different, he'll have aged 20 years, but seeing him in his 60s isn't going to change who he was in his 40s in the first two films.

When you revisit Jurassic Park in the future he's still going to be the same Malcolm at that stage of his life he always was, JP5 won't retroactively change that.

Getting the feeling that this is just going to be an extended cameo. Maybe an appearance on a talk show discussing the events of the first film.

"I told you so!" etc...

I'm a fan of Jeff Goldblum. His character Ian Malcolm was great in the first JP movie. I don't see the need to bring back and old character unless it serves the storyline. If they bring him back for a cameo or small little part, then what's the point is my thinking.

I would love to see the original characters brought back for another Jurassic movie but it would have to make sense and I think the focus, from my understanding, has to do with the storyline focusing on the dinosaurs, as it should be. So again, it's great that they are bringing his character back but I don't feel that it's needed. It's something to please the audience to get more butts in the seat. If it turns out his storyline serves the overall story of the movie, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, just continue with the type of casting you got from Jurassic World and it'll do just fine.

Gotta admit though. As a fan of only the first Jurassic movie, I was quite pleased with JW.

On a side note, B.D. Wong should be in every Jurassic movie. He's one of the most important scientists that helped engineering and create the dinosaurs.

So far spoilers and rumors are pointing at
[Show spoiler]the plot revolving around Owen going on a rescue mission to get Dino's off the island, competing with InGen, while the government debates the ethics of bombing/letting the Dino's die.

There's a pretty obvious role for Malcolm in that plot.
