Hey there Dem.... I mean Tom. I was wondering if you could provide some info on your upcoming release of Yeti? Is this disc coming from a new scan? What was the disc sourced from? Did you provide any sort of color-correction? What aspect ratio will the film be presented in? Any details you could provide on this subject would help me immensely. Sincerely.
Love, Your pal Dawn of The Discs XOXO Last edited by dawnofthediscs; 03-08-2020 at 05:34 AM. |

I'm also tempted in grabbing the Italian Blu-ray for the Italian audio, even though it's supposed to be watched in English. But the reviews about it's bad PQ have me on the fence, plus the back artwork claims its runtime is 88 minutes, so does that mean it's cut?

The Italian release from Cecchi Gori is the same uncut version. The cover incorrectly lists the runtime as 88 mins, but it's 91 mins actually. |

![]() ![]() Peter Marciani, an aging New York City hit man played by Yul Brynner (The Magnificent Seven), emerges from retirement and travels to Naples to hunt down a Mafia boss who killed his brother years before. With his suave black blazer and his calm demeanor, our protagonist quickly gains a foothold in the new locale and finds a ravishing love interest in the form of Anny, a dancer played by Barbara Bouchet (Casino Royale, Don't Torture a Duckling). His mission is complicated by his introduction to Angelo, a crafty young con artist played by Massimo Ranieri (The Light at the Edge of the World), who yearns to follow in the older man's footsteps as an assassin. Meanwhile, a police inspector, played by Martin Balsam (12 Angry Men, Psycho), is hot on our lead's trail. The 1976 Italian exploitation feature, Death Rage (Con La Rabbia Agli Occhi), directed by Antonio Margheriti (Yor, the Hunter from the Future), is a fiercely engaging outing that combines the aesthetics of brutal American fare like Dirty Harry or Death Wish with the debonaire grace of the James Bond 007 films. The narrative does not exactly break new ground, but there is much excitement to be had in watching Brynner's Marciani take out mobster pursuers in a subway tunnel or shoot cars over cliffs. A stylish music score by Guido De Angelis and Maurizio De Angelis completes the effect to deliver a movie that makes me feel cooler than I really am while watching it. The aspects of the plot involving Marciani and his new apprentice, Angelo, borrow a few narrative cues from the Charles Bronson/Jan-Michael Vincent film, The Mechanic, but to good result. The Italian cityscapes, the music, the killings, and the final payoff are well worth the price of admission. This Dark Force Entertainment brings grindhouse right to our doorstep with an impressively filmic presentation that is marred somewhat by apparently source inherent green lines and print damage. There are a couple of short exchanges in the Italian language that sadly not subtitled, these are only a few seconds of film, and I get the gist of the tale. Despite the few warts that will ideally merit a replacement disc, I applaud Dark Force for bringing this cool flick to my attention. Last edited by The Great Owl; 03-08-2020 at 07:06 PM. |
