Default Did MJ's death make you think about . . .

Now that were into a few days after Michael's passing, what is creeping into your consciousness. His sad, perplexing existance? Or his Music and Magic
on stage, on discs, and on videos.

Wait till we find out the toxicology results. Like Liza said, . ." all hell will break lose" . . .

Much like Elvis to me Michael Jackson was singing star with some great video's to boost his popularity, I've always been a fan because since i was a kid and watched him perform with his family as a little boy it amazed me how well he performed, he just really had it unlike most who don't but try hard, it was a natural gift like few are born with in different talents.

I'm looking forward to a blu-ray complilation of his entire history of work, i doubt he'll ever be forgotten for one thing or another, what he did was excentric to most but it's hard to imagine anyone that gifted to not have a few quirks, i wonder how well the rest of the population would fair given the money and fame that it wouldn't warp their world making them do odd things.

I do feel he a was kind and generous person and i won't pass judgement on his allogations but i will say if i had to trust someone around my kids i wouldn't have had a problem allowing him to spend time with them.

I was looking forward to watching Michael perform at his age because he was only a few years older than me and it's hard to believe he could do what he did 25yrs. ago still but i don't doubt that either as some people stay in shape better than others and i'm not one who has primarly due to previous hard labour i've done in the past that has left me with more pains than i can count.

Thanks Michael Jackson for all the great music and entertainment you've given us over the years and personally thank you for the happiness and smiles you've put on my face.

Michael Jackson was the Prince of dance and the King of pop music and video's and will be missed as much as anyone else i've lost in my life time.

Michael Jackson (RIP) I loved you for the happy beat you brought to my heart.

I'm glad to say thinking about Michael Jackson isn't occupying too much of my time. I've listened to a handful of his songs on my iPod while working outside, and watched a few of his music videos over the past few days, but I'm not exactly having deep thoughts about him.

I think this story sells today. It can craftily be kept alive for the entire Summer (God forbid). The Chandra/ Gary story was going to get us
through the winter of 2001-2002. Of course- two superjetliners into two
tall buildings changed all that.

Everyone pretty much dies at the end; it's inevitable.

I beg to differ. Your only thoughts are the music and videos.
Which video? Thriller? Beat It?

Mozart was also a basket case. But centuries later the world keeps alive the
MUSIC not the craziness of his life. Will MJ come up 200 years from now?

Thumbs down

Michael Jackson was by far the most famous of the Jackson 5, he will be remembered 30-50 years from now. Not sure how much longer after that he'll be remembered, since that's about the time my generation will start dying off.

I think you mistook me saying I don't care to spend time having deep thoughts about a celebrity with whether or not I like Michael Jackson.

I think he was great, definitely deserved the King of Pop title (even if he gave it to himself), and will be remembered for decades to come.

I just don't care to spend my time analyzing his life or his death, and getting too caught up in someone else's affairs. To me he was an entertainer, and I'll continue to be entertained by him. But I won't bother reading every news article about his death, or look too far into his personal life.

That being said, here's my 5 minute analysis of his personal issues:

For the record, I don't know any of the evidence in his case from a few years ago, but I suspect nobody else here does either, yet that doesn't stop them from drawing conclusions on his guilt. That being said, I'd assume he never did anything illegal to any children. Was he a bit weird, and did he like hanging out with kids? Yeah, and yeah. But that doesn't mean he did anything inappropriate with them. Once he settled with the first kid for $20 million, it opened the doors to more lawsuits, from anyone else who thought they could make up a lie and get money out of him.

He was found innocent in his trial, yet so many people still seem to think he did it. Now do you see why he'd rather just pay people off? People will think you're guilty either way, but at least settling out of court would avoid some of the publicity of going to trial, not to mention save a lot of time and stress.

If the parents of the original kid really think he did it, then they're the worst parents in the world for accepting a $20 million settlement, rather than sending MJ to jail. And if Jackson did do it, then anyone who subsequently let their kids hang out at Jackson's ranch are also among the worst parents in the world, and should be locked up for child endangerment.

I guess its no surprise in some respects. Extreme artists/talent is usually there because of the individual persona really IS that different from the average John Q Public.
Its difficult to get all of those personal interviews from him about sleeping on a big bed with "other" children. Its difficult to get that image of him dangling his toddler off a balcony.
unfortunantly for me, I really am more conscience of his lunatic antics than his awesome library of music at this time, but In the end, I believe its his music that will be his true epitath.
