rice, etiquette on a forum can be the same in real life (remember that?) Seriously though, if someone or a bunch of people help you to a solution, just through up a big 'thanks'! Fun thing about this forum is that I rarely see people agree with someone's answer, instead they offer up their suggestion. What your doing is gathering many peoples ideas and thoughts and putting them into your own practice. More often I see the response of, "...do what sounds good to you!", and that is really what it comes down to most of the time.

I have seen some comments put into threads that kind of make me cringe sometimes. I just try and stay away for the ones that seem like they are going to explode at any minute (there are two in particular I'm talking about on the HT General link ). Some people make comments that are definitely to the point, but could have been worded differently. That's the best way for me to put it.

Beta, your quote in your sig is awesome, couldn't stop staring at that in Jason's thread the other day. You should have included the other faces though!

I rate everyone's home theater based on the cleanliness, wires concealed, the room layout and placement of everything they have. For those taking photos of their system have your room clean or dogs laying around removed. Its very important to zip tie all your bundle of messy wires back there. Mount your TV at an eye level if possible. The most I hate to see those over brighted flashy colors behind their TV. It looks like two Jedis fighting back there. (Im working on mine soon with a different aspect of this ) Just because I rated someone at a very low score doesnt mean you need to put a low score on mine. It happened to me a couple of times.. Fought back and got it re-rated with an explanation.

I agree. I've had clearly a better setup...wires zipped tied...hidden...clean appearance all around. I've rated some on the lower side but never too harsh and offered suggestions for improvement. Just because they received a lower rating...they feel they have to bring yours down whether its better or not. Such is life in forums though...you won't please everyone. Shouldn't this thread be in the ht theater general discussion while we are at it?

Maybe what they could do on this website is any low scores can be given to anyone only with an explanation. Without this explanation the score is not given. Make this happen!

Ice thanks for the response. I will keep your thoughts in mind when posting.

As far as gallery rating I don't think there really is a consistent way to eliminate the childish "get you back" rating. if there is a reasonable explanation for the low rating then it should stand.

Having the mods adjust accordingly seems to be working fine.

Maybe newbies should have to be a member for 30 days before you can cast votes on peoples HT setups. I think I have a pretty nice setup and I had one New Member rate my setup a 1. The mods removed it though without me asking them to do so, thanks mods.

Jealousy is a ugly beast and it rears its head far too often.

icey?....kind of like that
I just dont understand it When he was working in high school I told him when you graduate and buy a car I will match whatever you put down.So to my surprise when that day came and I found out he had 8,000.00,I was like thinking I had to fork over 8,000.00 as well.To my surprise he askes me for only 2500.00 Iam like why he says Iam going to buy a used Honda for 5,000.00.So I gave him the money plus 2000.00 he spent the rest of the money on adding things to his car and sound system. So now its 4 months later all the moneys gone and his car is always in the shop.He could have taken 16000.00 and bought something new with warranty but no he wanted to take the other route,DAM fast and furious movies....sorry for being off topic just venting lets resume are regular scheduled program already in session.
