True they do it for a lot of the new science fiction releases. Asylum = the worst garbage on video.

Why, no--It's "Jr.", and it stars a wisecracking kid.

I literally just found out they're releasing Green Street Hooligans 2 on DVD today. Had absolutely no idea they were even making it. I'll certainly check it out as I loved the first, but I'm keeping those expectations way low.

It was completely unrelated to the Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings animated cartoon. I guess it's a sequel because it's the book that comes after but that's like saying Disney could put out a new Star Wars movie and it would be a sequel, even though it's totally unrelated.

Er, no, not wrong. Ridley Scott had nothing to do with Aliens, yet it was still a sequel. Geez.

There's also a Feast 3. But how is Carlito's Way an unofficial sequel to Scarface? I know they're both about Latino gangsters and were De Palma/Pacino projects, but they're independent movies. De Palma wasn't even the first choice for director on CW.

Yeah, but this isn't the same case. Return of the King was made as a follow-up to The Hobbit. The Lord of the Rings animated feature was made independently of those 2 features. Saying that Return of the King was a sequel to Bakshi's Lord of the Rings is like saying that Peter Jackson's trilogy is a sequel to The Hobbit cartoon. They're unrelated adaptations of the original novels.

Someone mentioned Carlito's Way and I just found out that Carlito's Way has a sequel. It stars P. Diddy.

I've never seen a series with so much potential get stomped into the ground like Feast was. The first one was amazing, but 2 (and there's also a part 3) are Rob Zombies Halloween 2 type bad.

Actually Cinderella 3 was much better than Cinderella 2.

Cinderella 2 was a useless cheaply animated overly politically correct disaster and should never have been made.

Cinderella 3 has better production values and a better written story.

Both sequels were direct to video features. There will be a special place in the afterlife reserved for Michael Eisner.

Cindy 2 was three salvaged episodes of a failed ABC Saturday morning pilot with a "movie" title pasted on, and even many execs at the company said it was the one that Sank the Studio.
Which is why they "apologized" with Cindy 3, which was taken from a more respectable Disney Cruise stage show.
(Although there are cases in which a TV spinoff pilot can actually be better than the original, for those who've seen "Atlantis II: Milo's Return", but Cindy is clearly not one such case.)

And Eisner should scootch over and make room for David Stainton, who before being kicked out, was about to suggest studio policy that EVERY new movie automatically get a video sequel as a strategic part of marketing on day One, and was about to greenlight Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons vidquels, literally whether we wanted them or not--
