I'm sure there will be extended cuts. Probably just have the deleted scenes put back in though like the first two movies. I think we will start getting some real new material starting with Order of the Phoenix since they cut like an hour and a half off of it's runtime.

I wish there was a larger picture of the sets. On Disc 1 it would say "Theatrical and Extended Version" (like the PS/SS and COS sets had).

Can't wait! I really hope they put the extended cuts, but I'll still buy them if they don't.

Actually, disc 1 (s) of SS and COS only said "The Movie" in their respective ultimate editions. It doesn't state "theatrical or extended cuts" on the actual disc art.

I'm hoping to God that the press release is just incomplete and that we're getting extended cuts. I did notice that no PiP features were mentioned (even though GoF had one on its HD-DVD). No trailers and TV spots are mentioned, either, and the first two had a nice collection of those. So either these third and fourth installments are rush jobs, or there's still plenty yet to be announced.

Mike Newell expressed disappointment in having to cut so much out of GoF, so it would be a shame not to give him his preferred cut.

Before SS and CoS were even announced, they had popped up on the MPAA site. Unfortnately, the MPAA completely revamped their website so that you can no longer search for titles. I'm not sure if the BBFC ever classified the extended cuts since the UK, as far as I know, still hasn't gotten these releases.

I will be outraged if these aren't extended. For years they've deprived us of subtantial deleted scenes, so everyone just assumed they were saving them for longer cuts that way there's some suprises. If the rest of the UE's are theatricals only, then I really have to wonder why WB is being so dang secretive about all this footage and falsely labeling these sets "Ultimate Editions."*

Um ... so they can triple dip on all of you with the extreme editions in a few years.

Man i hope you are right because there rreally needs to be some new material in Order and Halfblood. Because the deleted scenes previously released are crap and they cut so much more
or these Ultimate potter sets will be the "ULTIMATE" disappointment!

But why no new about nr 3 and 4 being extended cuts. And what about the PiP track that was on the previous 2 sets This is very weird

WTF is Warner up to here!!!!!: mad:: mad::an gry::ang ry::angr y:

I will get 1&2 around the 17-19th. Part of the reason I picked them up was for the EE. I hope the rest are like that.

I'm sure/hoping that these are extended cuts but Kiwi, I don't see it being as extended as you and I would like it to be.

Again, ABC Family had a marathon this weekend of the films (which I missed) but apparently there were extended cuts from POA and GOF. But from the description I've seen, it's just the majority of the deleted scenes we've seen added back into the films. No lost deleted footage back into the film.

Now, on one interesting note, I did see a description of the OOTP extended cut and the "Lost Prophecy" scene was slightly extended at the beginning.

I got the UEs for 1 & 2 for Christmas last year, and I love them. These editions are what blu-ray is all about. The picture, sound and extras are top-notch and should make any fan of these movies "ultimately" happy.

I liked seeing the deleted scenes put back in the movies, and I'd hope that all of the subsequent UEs would have that feature, too. I would say it should be up to the director what is put back in and what is left out. For the most part, if a scene is left out for a reason other than time, there was probably a good reason for it.

**** it looks like its only the "theatrical editions" what the hell is the point in this release then and calling it ultimate editions. And while the first 2 was extended and had PiP tracks and these has none of the above

http://homecinema.thedigitalfix.co.u...ontentid=72786

Unlike the Ultimate Editions for the first two films, there are no extended cuts here. Instead each three-disc set contains the theatrical version of the movie (Disc 1), a chapter from the “Creating the World of Harry Potter” documentary series (Disc 2), and the extras found on the standard 2-disc sets (Disc 3). Also included are collectibles such as a book featuring over 40 pages of movie stills, production sketches, concept paintings and behind-the-scenes insight. The Ultimate Editions also feature collectible character cards and a bonus Digital Copy of the film.

damn i am pissed off

It sucks that there are no extended editions of the films but that is not what made them ultimate editions. It's all of the extras and collectibles that make it ultimate not just the extended editions of the films.

Well, blu-news.com has the same story but isn't sure about the inclusion of the extended cuts, so....

Even without the extended cut (?), it should have picture-in-picture, parts 3 and 4 of the documentary, and archival special features from the previous release.

That's still a lot. But again, why have the extended cuts on air this past weekend and not have them on these sets? Makes no sense which leads me to believe that this news story by blu-ray.com and everywhere is incomplete or only what they got so far from WB.

It says nothing about a PiP track or that these are extended editions what hell is this it does not make sense to release the first 2 in extended form and not the later editions. This is so ****ing messed up

http://homecinema.thedigitalfix.co.u...ontentid=72786

here it clearly says they are NOT the extended versions

I still think they will have the extended versions. They have played those with the deleted scenes put back in for the past like 3 years on ABC family so they already have had a copy of the extended for some time.

Still though, what I'm starting to get frustrated with is that they only add in the already viewable deleted scenes and that's it. I want the rest of the footage that was cut that has never been seen!!!! This especially holds true for the later movies as I know they cut tons of stuff because it's been talked about.

Guess I won't be upgrading, I'll stick with the first release of these films.
