You sound like I used to be.
I used to get up and get out around 1 to 2 AM Friday Morning and try to be the first in line.

I did that one Black Friday at Staples and was staring thru the windows to see where they were placing the big draw items that they only had 4 or 5 of per store.

So after about 30 minutes a few more people showed up to wait for them to open. And then a lot of cars started pulling up in the parking lot.And this small short lady, there with her husband said we better get a line before we end up getting here early for nothing.

So she looked at me and said you were here first so you go up to the front of the doors,As big as you are and the way you wear your hair long and mustache with gotee,no one will try to break in line ahead of you.

Her husband looked at me with a look of embarrasment and I just busted out laughing and told her,"Dont worry,I wont let anyone come up here and take our places in line".

I'm not and wasnt a really big guy just 5 ft 10 and about 190 pounds. But with the long hair and gotee I guess I looked like an ex-con or something to that lady.

Then once I couldnt drive anymore I have stopped being able to do that on Black Friday except online.

So I get online about 11:59PM Thanksgiving Day and as soon as Midnight hits I start going over the sites and ordering everything I can.

I'm back guys. I drop in and out as to whenever the kids wake up and need something. That is why you don't hear anything from me for sometimes 20 minutes or so.....anyway I never did black Friday, but for perhaps a little on-line shopping myself.

Online shopping is a great alternative. But there is nothing like beating up the people around you for a piece of the deals! LOL!

Thats true.
When you are out there in the stores and down the aisles with all the other shoppers. You have to use some leverage and have wide elbows to knock people out of the way so you can get what you want.

And then have the elbows out so you can keep other people from trying to knock you around to get to what they want,Theres No,Excuse me or Pardon Me when your on the Front Lines during Black Friday. Its Every Man for themselves and Survival of the Fittest.

But I always seemed to have a bruise or two before the day is done.

So apparently, the Blus I ordered from amazon arrived yesterday at 10am. I checked it earlier tonight and there was no such update on the amazon tracking. Thats is really one of the only things about amazon i dont like, the cryptic package tracking!

I stopped using the Amazon tracking. I just take the UPS tracking number and go directly to the UPS site. Usually much more accurate and up to date.

Hey Lou! Yeah i usually go the Super Saver Shipping route. When i do that they send it through USPS. I put the number in there website but the funny thing is, It doesnt update on their site till it is delivered!

Yeah. I don't know who is worse, USPS or UPS. They have the worst tracking systems.

Because USPS doesn't have a tracking system like UPS or FedEx unless you want to spend a ton of money....even then I'm not so sure.

Hi Sean,

USPS has a relatively poor tracking for Priority Mail, Express Mail, and I would suspect Registered Mail. Their tracking system just is not updated that frequently. In fact the package can be delivered before there is even a first update. But, I use their service for a lot of shipments because they are convenient, less than 1 mile from home. As an example, I will be sending a large package of Cables that Dave Schulte and I ordered from Kevin in Taiwan. I will drop the package off tomorrow morning and ship via Priority Mail; Dave should receive the cables hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday.

Rich

I'm well aware of this..why I don't even bother checking Amazons tracking if I know it is going to be USPS. Its not worthwhile.

I guess you cant be too upset with it. Especially if you get your package two days before the estimated arrival date.
