There have been been who killed and claimed they where inspired by movies, but you're right to the best of my knowledge nobody actually THOUGHT they where Neo on a mission from god.

Yeah seriously. Blaming a movie, show or music for killing someone. Luckily people aren't taking that too seriously anymore and realizing there's just something wrong with the person themselves.

You can't blame movies, or tv for murder, there where murders and serial killers thousands of years prior. It does remind me of the quote from Scream however "Movies don't make killers, movies make killers more creative" that's about the only effect they could have.

I completely agree. The only thing movie's have done for killers is give them new ideas. TV doesn't make killers but makes them more creative.
