Samsung TVs do this now and it is pretty good. You can adjust the depth as much as you want. It is not the same as true 3D but it is pretty damn good.

I bought a Pioneer Elite about a year and bit ago and I'm not about to buy a new display just so I can watch Monsters Vs. Aliens over and over again. Haven't been too impressed with the 3DTVs I've demo'd anyway.
