Oh, I'm sure there's better movies as far as in-you-face 3D. I haven't had the chance to watch Journey in 3D yet (waiting for that price to come down) but I did see it in the theater and enjoyed it a lot. I guess I'm basing judgement on the fact I've seen Despicable Me no less than 15 times in 2D and now watching in in 3D is like watching it for the first time. That and the fact I'm amazed at the MUCH higher picture quality on my LG than my old 61" Samsung DLP.

Upgraded my blu-ray copy to 3D in November but only just got around to watching this today in 3D.

It started playing just fine in 3D but at the scene where they go to steal the Shrink ray the first time, it freezes, stutters a bit very slowly and then eventually jumps several chapters ahead. It then plays fine again. Took the disc out and it wasn't scratched and didn't have any dirt on it. Put the disc back in and it did the exact same thing at the same point. I was playing it on our PS3 Slim which has the latest firmware on it. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've read that some had issues getting the disc to read in 3D but nothing about it freezing mid way through.

As for the 3D, I thought it looked awesome but we had to turn down the setting a bit because it was giving me terrible eye strain and a headache. This is the first 3D movie I've watched on our system that's given me this problem.

Thanks. Guess we'll have to return it and exchange it for another copy and hope we have no issues.

Default Ordered from Amazon UK

I have been looking to pick up this title, and Amazon.com wants $35.99. Since I have read in several places that this is a region-free title, I decided to check Amazon's UK counterpart, and there it's $22.61 (US) including shipping, so I ordered a copy from the UK site. Are there any other region-free titles that are cheaper, even with the shipping, than the US counterpart?

This is a great 3d title imo. Best popout moment to me is when the front of Gru's spaceship almost pokes you after he's crash landed. One of the best 3d popout moments I have ever seen!

Default Add another title

I picked up Spy Kids: All the Time in the World at Best Buy last night for $19.99. I never saw it in the theaters, but I thought the others were cute, especially the 2nd one with its Harryhausen-inspired monsters.

Kewl, I am waiting for the price to drop a bit. For me, the current price is a bit pricy, if you know what I mean. Did you get a good price for it?

It is an absolutely dreadful film and the 3D conversion is one of the worst I've seen, don't waste your money at any price!

Despicable Me is native 3D and looks superb. The story wasn't bad either.

You're about the only person that said this sucked. From what my buddies at work tell me and what I have read from the reviews... it is an overwhelming excellect 3D movie. I think I'll do a blind buy on this anyway... just waiting for the price to drop a bit. It is pricy, for my taste.

I got it around it's release date for a little over 30 bucks. Wish the price hadn't gone up like it has now

I have just looked at the packaging on my UK release and no where does it state a region, so maybe it is region free

I got this for my vacation even though I did not announce that I did in advance like I do most vacation purchases.

Anyway, I heard in another thread, maybe Minions 2, that this had really good 3D. And I honestly have no idea if I saw it in 3D. I might have rented it before I got my first 3D TV (2011). I do remember loving the movie though especially the idea of this curmudgeon adopting 3 sisters and falling for them.

Well as far as 3D goes it did not disappoint. The 3D is mostly medium strong throughout and there are several popouts (mostly the in your face kind). So I would recommend this if you haven't seen it yet in 3D. And I guess at some point I need to get the other ones in 3D too lol. I didn't like those movies as much though.

I've only scanned through the trilogy but parts 1 & 2 have nice 3D. The 3D isn't as strong in part 3.
