Maybe Dark Helmet had something to do with the WB website: "Get the Blu-Ray disc before it was filmed"

Okay, this is completely off topic but it has to be said again and again until people get the concept.

People on this thread and this forum need to stop bickering against each other, and one of the ways to do that is to STOP using GAY as a perjorative adjective.

If BTBuck1 wrote:

would that sentence make any sense? Would it make more sense when you change "straight" to "heterosexual"? It doesn't.

I believe most people who use "gay" in those context meant "lame" or "bad".
Quote:

I cannot decipher what BTBuck1 really meant in his post, however.

If the movie is bad or lame, use "bad" and "lame" to describe the movie. Don't use "gay." If the movie is bad or lame AND the movie has gay content subvertly or overtly, say it clearly: "That gay movie is bad" or "That gay movie is lame."

Regardless of how hip the English colloquilism is and your using it to be hip, recognize that using "gay" to mean "bad" or "lame" to describe something is subtle homophobia on your part.

The mods will tell you that you shouldn't discuss politics, racial issues or religion here if you want to be condenscending or hateful. Sexual orientation should be added to that list.

Or at least actually see the movie in question, rather than try to push easy buttons about what the movie "sorta looked like in the trailer"...

(True comedy is 2% timing, 3% sweat and 95% good ol' fashioned RESEARCH...
There is no easy shortcut.)

This list would be awesome.

Goonies? Are you kidding me? BUY BUY BUY

And V for Vendetta would make my day.

I'm praying for The Aviator. I've seen it 40-50 times at least. What a great movie.

I love The Aviator too. It has an amazing feel to it, a great blend of humour and heartbreaking pathos.

in the uk it seems that the spelling 'ghey' is prefered so as not to offend the man-loving men in the viewing audience...

I don't know...I don't think it should have been made that big a deal of...

I think some people need to loosen their panties...you shouldn't have had to break it down like that...but the masses had to make a big deal of it...

when something like that is said in RL, people laugh...they don't get all pissy....it's not like a FUD comment..
