I once purchased Once Upon a Time in America director's cut Blu in there and when I got home saw that it was the normal edition. Went back in and they point blank refused to refund me and told me that I got exactly what was advertised. I pointed out that the case and disc were not correct and was told that as the sticker on the front did not list it as the director's cut version there was nothing they would do. Got a manager out and he refused to refund me, I asked what would happen if I picked up a copy of FIFA 18 and paid 40 euro for it but got the disc for FIFA 17 and the sticker said FIFA 17 what would happen, "nothing as you got what you were promised" was the reply. Was genuinely shocked by how they work and it put me off using them for anything other than the odd bargain.
This is ABYSMAL, jesus.

No trace of Jurassic World at all.
maybe they were just trying to save you from watching Jurassic World?

After a bit of digging, it turns out that they only have one listing for the bluray on their site, I guess it's down to luck whether you get the Criterion or the old MGM release.
I had the same experience with Easy Rider & got the Criterion for £4.

They do it with a number of catalogue titles. In the past I've also picked up Arrow's The Thing & Ronin a few weeks after release priced as the old versions (again, about £3 or £4 a pop I think).

I was kinda hoping the Studio Canal John Carpenter remasters would fall into the same pricing error, but they seem to have wised up on those titles & they're the same prices as Amazon...

For all the badmouthing CEX gets, you do find the occasional bargain. I got the Entertainment Store exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness 3D steelbook in mint condition for £1 last week.

You really do. I once got a mint condition copy of the Arrow Academy Eric Rohmer collection for a tenner, which was an obvious misprice and more recently the long oop Shohei Imamura collection for £40. The return policy makes it worth taking the risk with online ordering.

Just bought Arrow's Twelve Monkeys from there for a whopping £3. I can understand the staff not knowing an items value, but I'd be darned if I'd let something like Twelve Monkeys go for around £1.

It may be because they only have the older release of Twelve Monkeys Blu Ray on their system and they sell that for £3.00.

You got a bargain.

I bought Sniper Elite 3 on PS4 from my local Cex and got home and found they'd put Sniper Elite 4 in the case. Sometimes their mistakes do work out in he customer's favour.

My best bargain was the HMV Premier Collection #74 Blu of 'Mr Deeds Goes To Town' for 50p. By sheer luck I was passing the Dvd section and the white and silver slip caught my eye, enough to pick it up and investigate. Had the Blu, DVD version and postcards sealed, which has been left in the case when put out on the shelf. Perfect condition though. Assistant thought nothing of it when I went to the counter and just took my money, as indifferent as they usually are in there.

Often wondered who took it in and thought 1p was worth was a good trade in price!?

Obviously whoever accepted it thought it was just the DVD copy...

CEX is great for steelbooks, especially older titles. So many times they price them at the value of the regular bluray. Got Heat, Halloween x2 , Fifth Element and Aliens for the regular pricees ie £5-6.

Sold Heat on ebay for £18. Halloween for £25.

Popped into Cex as I do from time to time to offload some unwanted tech and discs.

Picked up pristine copies The Fog, Rushmore, Carnival Of Souls, Vampires (Indicator Collection with booklet) for nothing.

For anyone interested there was a copy of Christine (Indicator) there for £20 with booklet in excellent condition.

The Watford Cex isn't too shabby although they do have a nerve charging the same RRP for items which are pre-owned. It was a pretty dispiriting day having been to Intu Watford and seeing the HMV store shuttered up. Fopp Cambridge Circus it is from now on for the simple pleasure of being able to peruse your purchases in the flesh.

Maybe someone told them the film was solid gold, so they had to check like they were in a movie about pirates by biting the edge, yarrr, jim-lad.

CeX is very hit and miss, but the other day I managed to get Christopher Robin, Mamma Mia! HWGA 4K and A Few Good Men 4K for £27.50, all in mint condition so I can’t fault that.

Picked up these when I popped into town this morning, all clean cases all mark free discs. £30s worth but £3.20 thanks to a few old trade in vouchers.

Some gems in those stores. Going on amazon prices (always check first) that’s £130 worth new, glad for things like RTHOHH at £2 and Urban Legend for £3 as they seem oop and was going to wait on an Arrow Sale to blind buy The Endless

Always worth a quick look and online stock first so you can spend as little time as possible in store.

I picked up the complete 30 Rock on DVD earlier, in my local. Caught it sitting on the counter, as someone had just sold it. £12 and not a mark on any of the discs. Worth it just to dodge having to watch it on All4 with adverts.

Watched the entire series of Community on All4 and the adverts can get repetitive, but when you try to watch the one-hour shows they're unbearable, especially if you're trying to watch 2-3 episodes.
