There's nothing wrong with Temple of Doom in my opinion, it's just not as great as the first and third. I'll get the fourth just for it's BD transfer and whatnot. I don't care if it comes in the set or if I'd have to get it seperately, which I will wait on. Nothing's gonna stop me from getting the first three on blu-ray day one though! I'd pay $100 bucks for 'em, so long as they get top-notch transfers! I think we can trust Spielberg not to mess anything up.

Can't wait!
I don't think they'll retread KotCS with a Trilogy boxset. But I hope it matches the graphic design of the cover and discs of Crystal Skull for each film in the set. Never know until it's released.
Knowing Spielberg he won't mess anything up and I'm very unwilling to pay $100 for this. For a reasonable price I would. That's three more from Spielbergs filmography!

I'm hoping for some kind of Collector's Edition with all four movies. I've been holding off on getting Indy 4, on blu, since I thought whenever the rest of the trilogy gets released that they'd make some kind of super edition.

Chapter 24 - Raiders of the Lost Ark
Chapter 25 - Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Chapter 26 - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Would KotCS really be Chapter 26? I understand the logic behind the chapters --- just seems to me, given the amount of years between LC and KotCS there would be potential to have "chapters" in between.

This is awesome news! I hope it's going to be a trilogy box set because in
my mind the fourth one doesn't belong to the series.
"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was a mediocre attempt
to please fans with Indy cliches in my opinion. They should have gone the opposite
direction and write a darker screenplay.
Many of the attempts to be funny in Crystal Skull felt forced to me.

Sure the majority of the comic books and Army of the Dead (Del Rey books) take place between The Last Crusade and KotCS. Again Fate of Atlantis, Spear of Destiny and Iron Phoenix would've been perfect as the 1990's Indiana Jones Film Trilogy.
For the Bantam Books, thirteen I think in all but too damn lazy to check my dresser, would be a complete reworking of the "Chapter" bit if they were in fact adapted to television for a series but of course each book being its own self-contained mini-series. I still haven't read Army of the Dead yet since I'm planning on re-reading the entire Bantam Books Indiana Jones line. Army of the Dead is during World War II and the Bantam Books take place entirely prior to Temple of Doom.
I need to get out more since I typed this entire post from memory.

EDIT:
Now if this television series also started to adapt the comics, the Marvel takes place after Raiders of the Lost Ark and a bit after Temple of Doom whilst the Dark Horse take place majoritarily in World War II, they'd need to clone Harrison Ford and age him enough so he could play Indiana Jones from the entire printed works. Possibly could even include the video games. Bet an alternate universe has all of this and what a pity to be unable to bring it back to share it with this one. You bet I'd own this!

Is the first film still awfully re-titled "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark", or did they reinstate the original title?

ONLY the covers have this, not the film. Awfully? Bit too harsh, don't you think? If you want I could spam this thread with all the covers of the Bantam Book series and then you can decide to complain about titles.

Yeah, awful... like the 4th film, we don't need movie titles that long. "Jaws"... great title. "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" - terrible title. No one would EVER call it that.

You can spam all you want, but i doubt anyone would care.

I actually greatly enjoyed Kingdom of the Crystal Skull though. Might be due to I've read tons of other Indiana Jones stuff over the years. I still and ALWAYS call it Raiders of the Lost Ark.

It wouldn't necessarily be spam especially if it's Indiana Jones related.

Maybe they'll be a limited edition where Crystal Skull will not be included...?

I actually did enjoy that one. I'd put it above #2 (which was too dark, in my opinion) and behind #3. What it was really missing was John Rhys-Davies - he could have easily livened the movie up...

All three sequels were flawed (in different ways) compared to Raiders, but they were still quite entertaining.

Out of all of the books listed these books were my favorites and were actually pretty good. The others were good too but I don't seem to recall them as much as the first ones. I haven't read 'Army of the Dead.'
I can't wait for the movies on blu-ray. I still have KotCS sealed in it's steelbook package. Maybe they should do an 'Ultimate' set and add in the the 'Young Indy' series on 9 dvds, lol.

This certainly is terrific news. I just watched Raiders on DVD to celebrate the 30th Anniversary and despite my eyes being more attuned to Hi-Def blu-ray these days, the transfer still holds up. Can't wait to see this on blu-ray! I'll be picking up the box set, no question.

Army of the Dead is sitting in my dresser along with the Bantam Books. Haven't read it either but I intend to after rereading the Bantams. When reading them I can visually picture in my mind a slightly younger Harrison Ford to gradually older, Temple of Doom time even though he was older when they shot the film (should've taken place in 1934 instead of 1935, coulda still been Sino-Japanese War with Short Round?). Quite cool and even Indys dialog in Harrisons voice. Bit difficult to do "casting" for the parts of the other characters excluding the ones pre-established.
Young Indy could actually be 1080p since the series was shot on film. With the three set DVD releases I'm unsure if LucasFilm Ltd. ran them through high resolution for transfers.
Randomly related Indiana Jones tidbit. I did enjoy Emperor's Tomb but hated the damn jumping puzzles near the end of the game.

Yeah, I should probably give Temple and Crusade another chance since its been years and years since Ive seen them. The sequels had a VERY high standarda to live up to so failure was likely.

IIRC, Temple is the worst of the lot. Kate Capshaw was a deal-killer and her shananigans got old quickly. Plus, this film had some cheesey moments too.

Crusade is the one that most people seem to like so Ill perhaps try that one again. Crystal Skull is OK for a watch but Id never want to own it. I still think I'll be waiting these to come out individually before buying but Ill watch them again to be fair.

I too have been holding off on Crystal Skull until the Box comes out....might as well have all four in the box set! Let's hope an annoucement is made soon, so some new, slightly informed arguing can ensue

Ditto, also expected that there would be a 4 film boxset so I could get them in one nice package. Never seen Crystal Skull so it was rather easy to wait

There probably will be a 4-movie set when these come out. I thought Crystal Skull was alright really.
