how is the Music in the 5,1 mix - i have only heard it in stereo (the 5,1 mix that is) but there is definitely missing someting in the opening war (before the text scroll) - is that in the rear spearker or is that part of the music just missing ?

This actually goes for a lot of the music in the 5,1 mix when heard in 2,0 speakers

Is that a test? Are we supposed to say which is "best"?

I'm looking at this pretty close on my laptop, and I guess I could argue that maybe the middle picture has a tiny bit more detail.

But sat on my sofa, looking at my tv screen, would my eyes even be able to resolve that detail to be able to notice a difference? I'm not so sure. Put it this way - the edition of T2 that I have (UK Skynet) is so much better than my old dvd, I never thought the film could look that good, and as such I am more than happy with it.

Think of the resolution in real life, that unless you have sight issues, is resolved every moment you're awake. Now look at what you typed.

No one wants just the "original mono mix" included. That would be to them saying you want the DVD lossy mono track you've heard before.

What you mean is you want a LPCM mono taken from the films original sources (not previous home video tracks) - as well as the option for the 5.1 DTS HD-MA that should come out with a 2011 release.

That is if this is going to be on bd-50 discs. This should be AVC encode even if it's the same master as the other version, will be margainally better and with 2 lossless audio options I'd consider it worthy to pick up - while waiting for a 30 anniversary one to be the "skynet edition".

November?! Ouch... This better be an "Ultimate Edition" or something!

Simba I'm dreading each and every post from you today. First Life Is Beautiful delayed indefinitely (had a £20 hmv voucher I was going to use on that - now will use for Conformist) and now this

I see no logic in Fox releasing The Terminator in November instead of May, I really don't.

I guess we can just hope someone at Play pressed a wrong button somewhere, though it seems unlikely.

Only reason for delay could be that its the Lowery master we all been waiting for.
Maybe they at first was just going to port the US disc for May but now got a deal for the new master.

If im wrong then wow...bad bad decision!

I bet it will be the exact same transfer as the US MGM release from 6 years ago, its a joke we are still waiting for a UK release.

20th Century Fox love to delay UK releases.
Terminator, Some Like it Hot, Firefly, Child's Play, Misery, A Fish Called Wanda.....

It would be a travesty if Play.com's date is right. We've waited this long for a UK release, only to be forced to wait even longer...

Though if this indeed delayed for the Lowry transfer, then i won't mind as much. Perhaps they're planning a new boxset, who knows!
