There's the very nice woman who's in charge of the Star Trek brand.

i picked this up at JB HiFi World Square tonight for $68.
Very keen to go through it tomorrow. I've never seen the show before.. but this release looks so damn good, i just had to get it and check it out.

*EDIT* - i checked it out and i'm happy to say it is the corrected one.

Watching farpoint now, you're right, happened here as well. Obviously they missed it when fixing up the glitches.

Surely they won't do another recall? They'll just issue replacement discs, right?

Was going to go pick it up tomorrow...

Spoke to Paramount's customer service today (they wouldn't put me through to the brand manager without knowing my reason for contacting them) and told them about the problem with that one line from the pilot.

After I explained the situation, the attendant said if I wasn't happy with the set, I could take it back to the store and get a refund, which I don't want to do.

She took down my contact info and a note of the issue and where it occurs and would pass it on to the tech person.

I'm watching the documentary about the restoration on the first disc and the audio is slightly out of sync. I've checked out a few of the episodes and they sound fine, except for the reported issue with Ryker's beam me up dialogue in Farpoint shifting to the right speaker.

I got an email from Paramount today.

"Hi there Adam,

I have been advised that you have encountered an audio issue with our revised Star Trek TNG BD Season 1 release? The information that I have is that some sort of audio issue occurs between 35min 45 – 51secs?

Could you please supply some detail as to what exactly the issue is that you are experiencing so that we might investigate the issue? As you may be aware there was an audio glitch with the initial version of this product worldwide, but we in Australia recalled the faulty product prior to release, and released the corrected version into trade under the catalogue number AUPBD4005. Can you also please confirm if this is the version you have purchased?

Kind regards,

Trevor Cross

I'm pretty sure that Paramount has finished with this, and any remaining problems will..... remain.

I got another response from Paramount today.

"Hi there Adam,

I have forwarded your complaint to our suppliers and they have been unable to verify the fault with the stock they had there. Can you please send the offending disc (only) to me at the address below so that I can forward it on to production to perform a QC test on your disc?

Once they have checked the quality of your disc we will then be able to advise a resolution.

Kind regards,

Trevor Cross
Operations Co-ordinator"

During the pilot, when Riker gets word from Geordi that the Enterprise's stardrive section is in orbit and requests beam-up from Farpoint Station, his line splits between the centre and right speakers.

Yeah. That's definitely still there. Just the last line after his talk to Geordi, the rest of the dialogue in the conversation is fine.
