This is exactly the reason why I just blind bought it. +1

Because the special features are in the 2D disc.

Immortals 3D Blu-ray Review is up. I kinda figured it would end up with a score like that. Kind of a bummer that the picture doesn't hold up as well in a variety of ways (though seemingly minor) when viewed in 3D but its nice to know this won't be a "Thor 3D"...which was damn near unwatchable during the dark scenes.

Still glad I bought it for $22...thats a steal for a 3Dtv owner.

And also, if there is one thing that is impressive with the film, it is the cgi. Tarsem Singh's films are always beautiful to look at and this film is no different.
Immortals is just a movie length version of that TV show Spartacus with the same amatuerish acting, half ass greenscreen CGI effects.

The lighting on the background scenes and the actors doesn't even match most of the time and there's a nasty black halo around all the real life objects which sticks out like a sore thumb on Blu-ray.

Might have been passable on a blurry theatre screen but High Definition is too unforgiving when the effects are poorly done.

Kind of like the Star Wars release, HD makes all Lucas's tampering stand out.

Which store!?! I NEED TO KNOW! I'm dying to get certain Blu-rays early. This is why I love NY.

Is this movie worth buying? I have not seen it. Also is there a lot of sex and nudity in it?

One scene with nudity. Its pretty violent though. For 22.99 its worth it. Ive seen it 3x and its pretty cool. Not the greatest story but its simple, makes it fun. The action is amazing, and you get to see future superman who is gonna do an awesome job.

By violent you mean the nudity in that scene is violent or did you mean blood and gore. Because I can handle blood and gore. That's not an issue. I just hate movies with a lot of sex and nudity.

There's a "Parents Guide" on IMDB

Yea i guess that was a little confusing but i mean blood and gore and also a little disturbing as well with ppl being burned and stuff like that. The sex scene really is nothing. Basically you just get to see a hot chick naked.

I really dont understand that. Next time when you sneak into a 3D theater make sure you bring glasses. Obviously you were not watching the same thing we all were, including all the critics. One thing they all have in common is the eye candy is almost worth the price of admission itself.

I'll second this motion! <- me raising my hands enthusiastically to support what you have "brought to the table."

I just finished watching this. It was pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. A bloody action movie with minimal story. I enjoyed it for what it was, it wasn't great but it was fun. Mickey Rourke was one of the main reasons I enjoyed it as much as I did. The dialogue was nothing special and the characters (Mickey Rourke aside) weren't exactly memorable. I thought a few of the effects were a little cheesy. But still it's worth a rental at the least.

I saw this in 2D at the local cinema and found that it has absolutely none of the passion and inventiveness of it's precursor '300' and is leaden by a profoundly mediocre script, television-quality acting and bog-standard visual effects. It really does feel like it is an excercise in hitting the minimum requirements for the comic-book/video game crowd 2 hour confection.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it. The film is beautiful to look at, the style of 300 is certainly present but dialed up a few notches with more dream-like imagery, artistic design, over the top violence (mainly when the gods step in...then a bloody ballet of slow-motion carnage ensues), and mythology.

300 had far more intensity with its characters and acting...in comparison this movie feels tame, but Micky Rourke does play a very cool villain who's 100% comfortable with whatever it is he's doing no matter how sinister...a man that no longer holds remorse towards anyone or anything. As for the reviewer saying theseus was just this guy going go around failing at everything in life...whats wrong with a hero getting the short end of the stick time and time again only to come out victorious (in some form or fashion) in the end? It's the story of a hero on a journey of suffering and redemption. If he was going around winning all the time...it wouldn't be interesting.

Really enjoyed the 3D in this. It wasn't great and nowhere near the better 3D Blus out there but certainly sitting comfortably in the middle. Had a nice natural sense of depth, subtle in one scene and highly noticeable in others. True the picture darkens up a bit because of the 3D but this is kind of a darker film anyway, I wouldnt expect a film like this to have alot of pop in its colors but more of a deep rich palette. Very few pop out effects but the ones present are minor but pleasing and compliment the sense of depth. Overall, IMO, its not great 3D but its pleasant to look at...especially with all that beautiful art-design being thrown around.

Movie 3.5/5 - 3D Effect 3.5/5 - PQ 4.5/5 - AQ 4.5/5

Watched the 2D version last night. It took me a bit to get into it, but then I really enjoyed it. Man, is it brutal. The visuals are breathtaking and the LFE is speaker liquefyingly fantastic. The LFE isn't constantly beating you up though. But when it's there, it's getting respect! The scene in the boat where Poseidon created the storm was sheetrock pulverizingly awesome, as was the climatic battle at the end. I was surprised my house didn't collapse on top of me. I should check up on my homeowners policy.

All in all, a fun movie.

I was just going to say that I really enjoyed this movie and am glad I bought it--but after reading your thoughts--I'd like to add a ditto from me.

Watched last night (2D). I found it entertaining enough. I did notice some acting issues here and there (when we first see the virgin oracle awake from a vision, for example), and I have to admit I was a little taken aback by the decidedly small stature of the "Titans"...but I did find the costumes, production design, picture and audio fantastic overall. I'll watch it again sometime.
