You put down a deposit which Amazon uses to pay off the customs. It's genius!

Because you pre pay the fees as a deposit. And if it gets picked up by customs they will pay it for you if it doesn't then you will get your deposit back.

The director of The Mist, Frank Darabont, directed the pilot episode of The Walking Dead and served as showrunner for the first series

I really hope the UK version isn't cut like season 1. Can someone please give a link for a reasonably priced good region free Blu-ray player in the UK? Thanks in advance!

It's been confirmed that the UK season 2 will not be cut. But it's still a watered down relese. Missing extras and down mixed to 5.1 audio from the US release 7.1.

Toshiba BDX1200 from around £40

I like how they make a big deal out of something as dull as Character Profiles being a "UK Exclusive" - Something that can easily be found on the internet.

If it's not been pointed out elsewhere in this thread, E1's UK release also crams all 13 episodes onto just two discs. The 3rd disc is reserved for the featurettes and deleted scenes.

The exact same release as the Aus version except they never got the bonus disc.

I wouldn't touch the E1 release with a 10ft pole. Disgusting.

I only have a 5.1 set-up and I wouldn't watch the missing special features anyway so I'm not too fussed. It's not something I care THAT much about anyway, I just want to be able to re-watch it before Series 3 starts.

Sure 5.1 I can deal with, since 90% of releases are 5.1 anyway, but it's the bit rate of both the audio and video I'm concerned about. 13 40+min episodes on 2 discs? The Australians complained about it so I expect we will too.

For anyone buying this double check the Audio format when you play it. The Aus release only has 5.1 Dolby Digital. And since this is the same 2 discs as they got I wouldn't be shocked that the info on the UK box is false
