If they hire him they are required to have his sister be a nordic bombshell--you know the exact opposite of his looks. That was what was so cool about the first movie--they guy and his sister looked nothing alike and the audience could make up their own backstory--different parents, adopted, only one parent same, etc.--just like in the comic!

I thought the first two Fantastic Four films were pretty good, though they weren't that well received by critics because it didn't follow faithfully to the comic. I am looking forward to see where this go with this and who they will cast in the movie.

I saw somewhere that someone mentioned the new Reboot in the vein of Alien. Or something similar to that. I always thought this was a light hearted comic series, so they're gonna Nolan it up now?

Make it serious, brooding and depressing at times, cause that's what people wanna see.

I agree, I enjoyed both of them. Mr Fantastic was pretty cool, and Michael Chiklis was good as Thing... although the makeup was pretty low-budget looking, aside from making him completely CGI (and still not looking like a real rock unless Weta does it) it was the only way at the time.

I'm not sure why they changed Jessica Albas eyes in the second film though?

It didn't bother me in the comics but Reed Richards stretch ability comes off as really stupid on film. Don't ask me why I'm alright with a guy made of rocks, an invisble woman and a guy who catches fire - I don't know - but I really can't buy the stretching thing. That alone is going to mean the new film will have to have a predominantly light-hearted tone. Good luck to them if they can make it work.

This is filming in two months and there isn't even a known cast yet? When is the last time a movie went into production keeping their entire cast (and pretty much every other detail) secret? This can't be good.
