The Platinum Series DVD set is so cool that I will be very sad to sell it in exchange for this (or more preferably, 4 thru New in separate releases). In fact, maybe I won't. It only cost $22.99.

The UK box set has been in 20 U.S. dollars range shipped several times over the last year

I'll be keeping my UK set, unless this one somehow beats it.

Seeing as they've dropped the bonus DVD, I'm glad I ordered the UK set. I've been enjoying this set since last October.

I'm glad I bought the UK set. The US got shafted without the bonus DVD being included because there is a LOT of cool stuff on it!

Why not??? You can't get packages from other countries? You prefer to spend MORE on things?

Perhaps, that means movies will be available as standalone releases, not as double packs..?

Something like this

I got the box set as an xmas gift back in 2007, and it will suffice for a long time. I won't be picking up this blu-ray set until its cheap. The DVD boxset was well over $80 at the time, closer to $100 with tax.

Actually, yes. You can import from UK. These discs are all region free, and the Nightmare 1 and Nightmare 2/3 combo disc are both EXACTLY the same as they are in the UK set. Furthermore, it was dirt cheap from amazon UK.

I own that set. Even though I own the UK set on Blu-ray, I'm going to keep my DVD set because it is a really nice set and because it has the 3D sequence in Freddy's Dead. The Blu-ray does not.

I also own this cool Friday the 13th set on DVD...

I'm sure the features disc has great stuff on it, but how could it possibly compare to this:

Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy DVD

Is it true that the UK features DVD is only R2 meaning PAL? Not an issue for me, but could be a real piss-off for many others

From where? Not Amazon. Amazon's lowest price isn't anywhere near $20. $20 shipped for a 7 movie set is pretty hard to believe. Whoever was selling it would've been selling it for under 10 pounds! That's definitely a deal...

From Amazon UK I am assuming. When I got mine, it was only $30. Still a great deal.

It hasn't been $20 from Amazon UK in the last year. Then again, it hasn't been $30 from Amazon UK in the last year according to this site, unless this site's price tracker is wrong. The cheapest they have it at was 24.99 pounds last December which would be about $40 before shipping.

Damn,

I bought the UK set about a year ago, watched all the movies and the bonus DVD and then sold it about 3 months ago in anticipation that the US would be getting a more feature packed copy, similar to the awesome DVD set that came out a number of years ago.

Oh well....either wait it out a few years or just re-buy the UK set again...
