Default Only one..

Ooops 2. I have 9 films so far. 2 I bought blind were Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live at Radio City Music Hall, it fills up the whole screen and Radio City looks amazing on a big screen TV, not to mention that its a great concert. The other was Blue Planet Imax which I thought wasnt very good. I do want to get Blue Planet:Seas of life though. Their special on creatures from the deep was amazing.

I have never seen the Shinning or 2001 on either DVD or in the movies I have however seen it on TV at a glance. I am seriouly think about picking up these two this weekend just because they are two great movies that I haven't experience as yet and the picture quality is great.

Out of about 25 Blu-ray films I've only watched two before buying them. I never read review's or watch adverts for films before buying Blu-rays. I stopped going to the cinema, watching films on TV and buying DVD's several years ago so I'd have a large selection of new material to buy in HD. If I ever see a film preview I close my eyes and block my ears so I don't get any hints of the plot.

I think I've got maybe a dozen movies total in SD that are blind buys, but nothing is a blind buy in Blu.

I usually know enough about a movie to decide whether I want to see it at all, and since I don't rent movies if I want to watch it then I'm going to buy it.

Now, if your question is did I buy them ONLY because they're on Blu Ray, then I have a few of those:

Open Season
Sky High
Surfs Up
Underdog

I haven't watched Surfs Up yet, but I was pleasantly surprised by both Sky High and Underdog and am very happy I own them. My son especially loves Underdog (or superdog as he likes to say - he's 3). I'm ambivalent towards Open Season. It's OK I guess, but I'm not a fan of Ashton Kutcher, Debra Messing, or Martin Lawrence, and while I seem to get all of why I don't like any of them packed into this film, at least the visuals are worth it.

I will sometimes "Blindbuy", but it really depends on who was involved with the movie and what genre it is.

So far on Blu-Ray the only movie I have blind bought was 300. I heard tons of good things about it and knew that I would love it.

I have bought many movies based on reviews and type of movies I like.

Few movies I have bought I never seen before: The Condemned, 300, Italian Job, Mr Brooks, and Resident Evil Trilogy.

Phantom of the Opera, Planet Earth, Casino Royale are some of the blu I bought that I have never seen before and paid almost full price. Never regretted it. Then the BOGOs helped in replacing my DVD titles.
