They said they would have copies on Amazon but nothing have gone up there since the announcement of the re-release weeks ago so there's still hope.

Just ordered 4 blu-rays from drafthousefilms.com at $10 each plus shipping:

20,000 Days On Earth
Mood Indigo
Cheap Thrills
A Field in England

All were blind buys, but for $59 shipped I think it's a good deal

Haven't watched Mood Indigo yet, but the other three are winners. Hope you enjoy!

I got a Drafthouse Alliance membership when they first started it, and have renewed it twice since. Some really killer films in that collection.

$10 is a good price for A Field in England but $10 shipping is a deal breaker.

Need to grab Wake in Fright before its gone for good.

Bought "Why Don't You Play in Hell?" off the Drafthouse website, including the shirt and poster. For any fellow Canadians curious about shipping, I'll describe describe my experience briefly.

Order was $32, which came out to $46 after shipping and then $57 after the exceptionally shitty conversion rate we got going nowadays (the Canadian dollar was higher than the US not that long ago, what happened to that?!). The shirt and movie shipped together (despite the live receipt still saying the shirt is 'pending'), and the poster shipped separately. The shirt and movie arrived after one week, and the poster took closer to two. They were shipped by USPS and fully trackable, and then Canada Post takes care of it in Canada, so they just dropped it off early in the morning; I didn't have to sign, there were no customs or brokerage fees or anything. Although the poster didn't fit in my box so I had to go pick it up.

All in all pretty good, except the cardboard tube the poster shipped in got a little beat up, and there are some pretty serious kinks all down the poster now. I wasn't really planning on framing it or making a big thing of it, but that's still pretty disappointing.

ANYWAY, as for the movie, I mean, I'm a huge fan of Sion Sono, the director, so even though I hadn't seen it before, I was pretty sure I was going to love it. And I do, it's freakin awesome; I watched it a week ago and I'm still thinking about it. It's a crazy-ridiculous action-comedy that's also strangely autobiographical, about Sono and his gang the '**** Bombers', trying to make movies, and it's about the love of cinema and the spirit of filmmaking, and also yakuza turf wars. It's insane.

The only extra on the disc is a (very funny and interesting) 22-minute press conference with Sono, but the film is amazing, looks excellent, and also comes with a bonus fold-out poster. Highly recommended.

And I love my **** Bombers shirt.

Would love to see Drafthouse pick up more Sion Sono films in future.

No word on any forthcoming catalog titles from these guys? It's been almost a year since Ms. 45.

So, I have something of an odd question, but I purchased The Congress back when it came out, and noticed the top of the spine was cracked on the case after I opened it. I purchased from Amazon, and didn't feel like doing an exchange (plus I didn't notice the damaged case until a few weeks after I got it, because I hadn't opened it right away).

Anyways, my question is: does anyone know where I could find a matching replacement case? Drafthouse seems to have abandoned the Blu-ray logo-adorned cases for their releases, as none of those I've purchased recently are sporting them, so a blank clear case in the matching style would be preferred, but the photos of cases on eBay aren't too helpful...

I sent an email to Drafthouse last night about Miami Connection coming back into stock and this is what I got:

"Hey XXXX, currently in the manufacturing stage and should have more real soon!"

I wish my local Alamo Drafthouse received blu rays in faster. I want to get The Overnighters and Why Don't You Play In Hell? (both are currently out and available on Amazon), but I prefer purchasing them in person. Supports the theater and you get free popcorn & soda.

This movie has always sounded so insane and dangerous. One of those that is absolutely perplexing that it even got made!

NEWS

Quote:
Last month, Drafthouse Films and Olive Films announced that they have partnered to bring back to U.S. theaters Noel Marshall's sole––and career-derailing––directorial effort, the notorious 1981 family affair with big cats, Roar. Now, the distributors have sent us the official rerelease trailer, which is included with this announcement.

The film will have a limited theatrical release across the U.S. this spring and will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand platforms later this summer.

Synopsis: An unprecedented––and wholly unpredictable––action-adventure, Roar follows wildlife preservationist Hank (The Exorcist producer Noel Marshall in his sole and career-derailing turn as an actor and director), who lives harmoniously alongside a menagerie of untamed animals, including cheetahs, elephants, lions and tigers on a preservation in the African plains. When his wife and children arrive (real-life wife Tippi Hedren, The Birds, and step-daughter Melanie Griffith, Working Girl) for a visit, a long-brewing battle for dominance between two lions erupts and threatens their very lives.

It seems like 'Roar' discussion is more applicable for an Olive thread in a forum dedicated to home video releases.
