Recieved my copy today, i guess i was right. All discs are stacked on top of another in one big jumbo case along with a slipcover/outer card whatever you like to call it. Although i said i would prefer them to be together in one case now that it's here i can see it will be a struggle taking out some of the disc to get to the ones below and so on. Please let me know if there's anything you want to see that i haven't already shown

Man, those jumbo cases are a nightmare, more so with that many discs. I did not feel like telling you as much, cause of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I really hope the German boxset comes with separate cases That alone would be a good enough reason to choose that edition, IMO.
Thanks for the update!

Yeah it's a nightmare. Also is it just me or does anyone else hate the way the subs are for seasons 1-4? The font for the subs is way too big and bold for example they take up most of the screen. For those of you who don't use subs this obviously won't be an issue but for someone like myself who prefers having them on it's really hard to focus on anything else but them

Most players allow for settings' customization for subs (i.e. brightness, position, font). Have you checked it out?

For those who might be interested, the German complete series boxset has two jumbo cases (not one like the UK release), which makes it more handy. So I'm glad I opted for the German release.

On the minus side, the rest of the family won't be able to enjoy the series, because the Italian language is only in the first two seasons and not on all seasons except the last two, as reported on blu-ray.com. Which, frankly, makes me wonder where does the website gets its info. Anyhow, no big deal. Like I've said, I'm glad about the two separate cases and that's it

Do you mind sharing some pics? And unlucky about the Italian language not being available for every season. I agree it's why i never trust what websites say anymore

Here, nothing too fancy, very thin cardboard box, identical cover for both cases. But, at least, there's two of them

But I've noticed there is a little discrepacy between the two boxsets: the UK release consts of 35 discs for a 5026 minutes running time; the German release has 34 discs and a 5818 running time. Weird I reckon there has to be some mistake.
I wonder if I would have chosen the German set because of more dubbed seasons (in Italian) but well, I made my choice.
If the slipcase was not a bit banged up I don't think I would envy your pristine copy of the German one, especially as it comes in a proper box rather than the UK slipcase.

Yeah, I'd also say the German offers a nicer package overall, for those who don't mind the German Writings.

I just opened the jumbo box, what a mess. I had forgotten it was said there is no telling what seasons is on the discs until you get to season six and it's printed on them, so you have to go by catalog number. And not even a bloody episode guide printed on the back of the insert! Oh I gotta laugh.
Ill have to quickly design a guide myself but I won't know what the episode breakdown will be on the discs, unless there is something online?

Edit: I need to finish watching White Collar (sadly only on DVD) but I couldn't help taking a peek at Katherine Heigl in Suits and wow she's as stunning as I remember, wow, and the image quality on this set is breathtaking. I remember when I first caught a few minutes of The Good Wife in HD on tv and I decided I wanted it, and then was disappointed that only a DVD set was created.
While there is no denying you can just enjoy it in SD, being able to watch these new shows in stunning HD is just another thing and it's really really sad that studios cannot find a reason to issue them in both formats.

Each disc tends to have a max of 4 episodes on it so 4 discs for each season (16 episodes for the typical season) with the exception of season 1 & 9 which has 12 episodes & 10 episodes and are spread out on 3 discs. I know it's annoying but i've familliarised myself with each seasons artwork so i know which season is which. Disc 1 for Seasons 1-9 are episodes 1-4 | Disc 2 for Seasons 1-9 are episodes 5-8 | Disc 3 for Seasons 1-8 are 9-12 & Season 9 episodes 9 & 10 | Disc 4 for Seasons 2-8 are episodes 13-16. I hope i've made that clearer enough to help!

For the episode descriptions you can check IMDB? In my experience IMDB has always been on top for these things and is generally easy to navigate

@UnionJackMix. I just noticed White Collar is on Netflix atleast in the UK and is in HD format. I'm not sure if it's available in your region but if you don't mind you can use a vpn to watch it?

Thank you, years ago I would have gone out of my way to ensure I have a physical back-up of the HD version, but I think age is catching up and I think I can live with either the DVD and if cable in my region airs it again, tape it off there and burn to BD (I actually managed to catch the last two seasons already).
I don't like streaming, even with tv I always record it for posterity (I have Panasonic HDD's with burn to BD facility).
I don't have Netflix, I would not want to be wowed by a program that is not sold on physical and be left with the horror of fear being reliant on Netflix always listing it and not suddely removing it, and I'm not sure if Netflix is recordable on a machine like mine.
I know some HD programs shown on UK channels cannot be always recorded (though it appears to be totally random even on tv shows, sometimes they restrict an episode or two), but have no idea if Netflix can.

Sorry for the straying from the topic.

Oh right, i get that. Owning physical media atleast in Blu-ray / HD is much better than streaming for so many reasons.

Watched the first episode and I loved it!
Also, I can't believe what absurd stupid presentation Universal did here: Aside from the already-mentioned lack of season distinction on most discs, the menus are also as dumb, with the infamous Universal useless menus that are just icons, so you don't even know the episode titles. In fact I own so few of their discs that I don't know what those icons do and I thought the one that looks like an open book one was the bookmark one, instead it's the episode divider.
So, literally, you must research on the net to figure out what season is on which disc, and you also need to google the show to find out the episode titles and guide.
Man, what a f***-up! Thankgod the show is brilliant.

I agree, the only other Universal title i own is Grimm: The Complete Series [Blu-ray] and for Season 1 & 3 the menus aren't those weird symbols infact they even show episode titles but Seasons 2, 4, 5 & 6 are the exact same as the Suits Blu ray menus with the weird symbols.

Does the German Blu-ray set for Suits season 9 have the same disc authorings as the discs in the UK complete series? I.e. English menus and subtitles?
