1.37:1 as a compositional ratio in principal photography was dead by mid-1953.

That's fine, but understand that Gitt, who is indeed a qualified expert on film and has an admirable record in all his years with UCLA, one which I respect and invest in and extol often, is not infallible. I've met him and spoken with him a few times and I always came away with some incredible knowledge added to my brain, so I am not questioning the man's expertise in whole, just that in this instance, Furmanek is providing facts, not memories.

We can all believe what we want to believe and choose whom we ourselves trust the most. For me, Furmanek provides the definitive answers with research and documentation, not Gitt. And certainly not anyone else, especially those who I personally find to be self aggrandizing bloviators coasting on reputations that are far from warranted.

I love the KINO 4K and have no issues at all with the aspect ratio.
