here is what i predict plain archive will come up with, they have already said a boxset exists.

Six Editions:
Box Set (this will be the rarest, least amount made and most expensive version to buy)
PET full slip
Full slip
lenticular
PET 1/4 slip
Keepcase

every single version will have completely new artwork (unlike ZDT30 where the full slip and keepcase are identical apart from colour)

Wow, what a shame. Tragic, really. Another poor victim of a U.S. remake blinding people from the true, brilliant source (yes, I know this was originally a manga).

I have never seen Oldboy, but I blind bought ISTD from Plain and ended up really liking it.

As for those suggesting / predicting / hoping for like 6 different editions... all I have to say about that is PLEASE NO!!!

Novamedia made too many editions for their Avengers with 4 and it splits the print run in too many different direction. Limit of one per member turns into limit of 4 per member. It's also exceedingly expensive for collectors.

Personally I think 2 editions should be the MAX for each release. We don't need a full + a lenticular + a 1/4 slip + a boxset + a keepcase etc.

And if they do a 1/4 slip, it should be a tiny portion of the print run.

I'm hoping it's just box set, full slip, lenticular, 1/4 slip. ZD30 had 4 editions, and the one-click wasn't absurdly priced.

this is oldboy we are talking about though. One of koreas best films. plain will go all out for this release. they said they have 5 designers from 4 different countries working on it. i will be pretty suprised if there is anything less than 4 versions

Its certainly a film the deserves this much effort, I'm just always stunned at how Plain isn't drowning in all their hard work. Intrigued by the box set, but....wait I dont have a rebuttal for that box set can't wait to see what this all entails, luckily we have a ton of awesome releases before we get on to Oldboy

As much as I preferred the original I didn't mind Spike lee's effort. I do believe some remakes can out pace their originals as well, the departed and dawn of the dead come to mind as remakes I much prefer to their originals.

I didn't hate it as much as most people, but the original was much better. I actually prefer Infernal Affairs to The Departed, but I agree about Dawn of the Dead.

Would disagree with you on boxset being the most limited.plain listens to its audience and know this will be its most popular release.on top of that i can almost guarantee oldboy will have a bigger print run then previous plain releases
